We have some more beauties for you today,
this time from Fairy Isa and Fairy Chris!!!
Let's start with Isa.
Another beautiful creation.....
Isa says "First of all I cut flowers with card.
I then add the Gesso with my hands or a brush. It does not need to be
an even layer. I like to use a heat gun now on the Gesso to create
nice bubbles!! Then spray with a Cosmic Shimmer Mister and dry again
with the heat gun.
You can use these flowers alone or together like this on a tag".
Isa used -
Cosmic Shimmer Misters - Mango Blaze, Peacock Green, Twilight Black
Distress Inks -Walnut, Brushed Corduroy, Frayed Burlap
Crafty Individuals Stamps - CI231 - CI235 Katzelkraft Stamps - Citations
Absolutely stunning Isa, thank you!!
And now for our second project today, this time
from fairy Chris, a gorgeous butterfly tag.
Here Chris is showing you a Gesso Resist technique.
Chris says "Choose your stamp, solid style, swirls etc, work really
well for this technique. Swipe it over very sparingly with some Gesso using
a sponge applicator.
If the stamp is overloaded with Gesso it will squish when stamped and a
clear impression won't be achieved.
Stamp randomly around the tag or card that you're using and pull the stamp away
upwards so that the Gesso doesn't slip about. Wash your stamp immediately as Gesso
is difficult to remove once dry. Allow the Gesso to dry or speed things up with a heat tool.
When the Gesso is dry, sponge the tag with your choice of Distress Inks.
Allow the ink to dry and then take some slightly dampened kitchen paper or a baby wipe
that's almost dry (too wet and the inked background will also be wiped away)
and rub over the Gesso to remove the distress ink. The Gesso acts as a resist
and wiping the ink away will bring the Gesso back to it's original white colour.
I decorated my Gesso resist tag with butterflies die cut with a Sizzix Alterations
Movers and Shapers butterfly die from printer paper and sprayed with
Distress Ink and Cosmic Shimmer Mica Powder mixture. Lots of Pearl Pens
were used for the dots. I made a heart from beeswax using a cookie cutter for
the form to pour into and highlighted the heart by scratching with a scratch tool
and brushing over with Cosmic Shimmer Mica Powder.
The flowers are spritzed with Perfect Pearls mixture and rolled up before
attaching, the little roses are dipped in beeswax.
I hope you give the gesso a try", Chris :)
