Masks week: day four

Hi,
Misting, and spritzing and inking and beautiful effect is what comes to mind when I look at today's calendar by Chris Dark. Although the picture does not show it, I'm sure it must be very shimmery and even more beautiful in real life.
Here's how Chris made it.

I spritzed over the mask and ATC with the Cosmic Shimmer mist and a mixture made from Victorian Velvet reinker, water and Perfect Pearls powder. After carefully removing the mask I dried the ink and added the photo corners and the sentiment
The leaves which were stamped with the Distress inks, cut out and brushed with gold Perfect Pearls powder. The sentiment was also stamped around two sides of the ATC using Pine Needles Distress ink. The back of the ATC and calendar for April were stamped with the same stamps and the distress inks mentioned above after using the mask and shimmer mist again over the calendar page.

Materials:
 Crafters workshop Mask = branches
CI-208 Leaves Background stamps
Cosmic Shimmer Mister Rich Gold
Perfect Pearls - Pearl, Gold
Victorian Velvet Distress Ink Reinker
Distress Ink Pads Peeled Paint, Bundled sage, Pine Needles Mustard Seed
Tim Holtz Alterations ATC and corners die

Masks week: day three

hello :)
Gio's day... which means the lovely calendar in its tuna tin :o).
Gio went a bit more "mixed media" using inks, misters, wax etc... and of courses masks as it's what we are talking about this week.
I let Gio tell you all about her month of April teeny page...

I sprayed Cosmic Shimmer Mister 'Teal Wash' on the Tando mask: 'Leaves'.
I then sprayed Cosmic Shimmer Mister: Scarlet Mist and let it drip.
I use the same mask with Distress ink Mustard Seed and started to cover the surface with melted wax.

As the wax was still soft, I put the Tando mask on it and rolled the brayer over it with little pressure.
To make it pop, I painted the wax with Viva Precious Metal: Blackberry and gold acrylic paint. I sprayed with the Lava Red Cosmic Shimmer Mister and let it drip.

I cut out an image from a vintage magazine. I glued the calendar , the image and
a piece of lace to the background.

Materials:

Tando mask : Leaves
Cosmic Shimmer Mister: lava red
Cosmic Shimmer Mister: Scarlet Mist
Cosmic Shimmer Mister: Teal Wash
Claudine Hellmuth Gesso
Distress ink Mustard Seed
lace
Ranger Perfect Pearls: Metallic kit

Isasart is starting the week with a gorgeous tag she made using Tando Masks, showing you 3 ways of using those (did I say spoiled?). Hope you like this sample and that it will inspire you to take those masks out ;)

Isa started first put the mask down on her tag and sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer ink.
She also used them with Distress Inks and Cut and dry foam to create darker areas on her tag and finally she outlined the flowers on a piece of card to cut them out and layer them

Isn't this gorgeous ?? and very seasonal too

Simply Saturdays

Hello,
And welcome back to our Simply Saturday.
Gay has been working on two more calendar pages using Impression Obsession stamps as well as acetate (and shrink plastic on the card). Beautiful work Gay, very inspiring... Love how she coloured that shoe balloon stamp.
Hope you like them, can't wait to read your comments.
See you later for our 3rd challenge ...

Gay used IO F1823,drew more clouds and coloured with copics.

I have stamped in Memento Tuxedo black and then on Acetate in black Stazon, the image was very finely detailed and to give it depth I felt an extra layer would help. It's attached with dries clear glue, behind the top and bottom lines of the window.

Stamp: Impression Obsession G1748

*****
Gay also made this elegant masculine card, using the Cover-a-Card stamp as a background

Stamped clocks on to Shrink plastic and cut out then stamped images again onto paper. Stamped IO stamp and embossed with Silver fine detail embossing powder then sponged (with Cut and Dry) Pumice Stone ink over the whole stamped area, adhered to card and added watch parts.

Impression Obsession week: day five

Hello :)
Today is  Gio's day with more lovely and romantic pages for her little tin calendar...

I covered a piece of old book page with Gesso. I stamped the Impression Obsession stamp: Flourishes with Distress Stain Forest Moss and Wild Honey. I glued it to a piece of cardstock.

I created the embellishments stamping with the same stamp and TH Distress Ink Dusty Concord on a Gessoed old book page.
I put some Ranger Glossy Accents on a TH Fragments and I glued to the stamped page, pressing down the fragments to prevent air bubbles. I also glued one of the fragment on a image cut out from a newspaper.

To give texture to the background I brushed some melted wax along the border and stamped when it was still soft.

I glued the calendar month and the embellishments to the cardstock.

Materials used:

Impression Obsession stamp: Flourishes
Distress Stain Forrest Moss and Wild Honey
TH Distress Ink Dusty Concord

Another gorgeous addition to the little tuna tin ;)
See you tomorrow for Simply Saturday

Impression Obsession week: day four

hi,
Neil's turn today with his 12 x 12 colourful calendar. He too used one of the Cover-a-Card stamp. I think they are everyone's favourites...
Here's how Neil made his calendar.

The leaf stamp was done across the page and roughly covered.
The background stamp was coloured with Chipped Sapphire, Wild Honey, Broken China and pumice stone distress inks and spritzed with water. I then stamped the image repeatedly until the page was covered. I repeated those steps with the geologic cover-a-card stamp and coloured the leaves with Copic markers.
The month was written onto a chipboard banner from Tando Creative.
Inka gold paste adds some shine to the banner and edges.

Impression Obsession cover a card stamp - Geologic
Leigh Hannan - owl leaves
Distress inks in Chipped Sapphire, Wild Honey, Broken China and pumice stone.
Inka gold paste- old silver (909)
Copics in V15, BG49, B45, Y15 and YG63

Thank you Neil :)

Impression Obsession week: day three

Hi,
Today is my turn to show you what I did with the lovely Impression Obsession stamps. I must admit that I LOVE those Cover-a-card stamps. Although they are mostly used to cover a 6x6 card, I thought I would use them differently. I used the Woodgrain one to cover 3 ATC which are my calendar backgrounds, and I even used the newsprint one to stamp the birds and wings. Just placed the gessoed birds and wings on my mat and stamped the lot in one go with StazOn ink: so quick and easy.
Here's my effort for this week, hope you like it :o)

And a step-by-step tutorial to show you how I made it...

Materials:
Impression Obsession Cover-a-Card stamps: Newsprint and Woodgrain
Impression Obsession Gary Robertson Stamp: Spring flowers

Callendar challenge winner - week 1

Hello everyone,
Time to announce our winner for week 1

Congratulations!
Please email me and I will send you your voucher ASAP.

See you soon,

Impression Obsession week: day two

Hi,
For our second Impression Obsession day (and 3rd calendar week), Chris Dark has used two different Impression Obsession leaf stamps on her ATC magnetic calendar. Aren't the colours stunning? very seasonal I hear you say...
Here's how Chris made her sample...

For the front of my March calendar ATC I first cut the ATC shape using the Tim Holtz Alterations ATC and corners die from grey board. The grey board was painted with Fresco Finish Butternut paint, dried, stamped  in Archival Olive ink with the Impression Obsession Cover a card stamp 'leaves' and then the inside of the leaves were coloured with an Inksentials white gel pen.

The Impression Obsession Leaf Square stamp was inked with Distress Inks  (Barn Door, Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade and Vintage Photo) spritzed with water. When the ink was dry I cut out each of the squares, doodled with black pen and green Marvy marker pen around the edges and mounted them on the ATC, the square on the right was raised up with foam tape

The centre embellishment of Tim Holtz ideology metal foliage was embossed using Distress embossing powders in peeled paint and vintage photo finished off with a pearl in the centre. I added some gems and small pearls at the corners to finish off.

Materials Chris used:
Tim Holtz Alterations ATC and corners die
Impression Obsession stamps: Cover a card - leaves  and Leaf Square
Distress Inks  Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade, Barn Door, Vintage Photo
Distress embossing powders Peeled paint, Vintage photo
Black Pigma Micron pen
Green pen from Marvey Brush markers Victorian set
Tim Holtz Ideology metal foliage
Woodware foam tape

Chris also made this lovely autumn card....

For this card I used the same technique as earlier in the week to stamp the image onto watercolour paper and Barn Door, Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo distress ink. The squares were cut out and mounted over a piece of dotted ribbon on to top of green card blank cut from Bazzil card. The doodling was done with a white inksentials gel pen and the edges of the card were sponged with Brilliance white ink.

Thank you Chris for these lovely samples.
See you tomorrow with another calendar.

Impression Obsession week: day one

Hello,
Hope you had a lovely weekend.
This week, we challenged the team to use the lovely Impression Obsession stamps on their calendars or other samples as Isa'sArt has done for us today.

She has used the Impression Obsession Cover-a-Card stamps which are fantastic to make your own background papers. They are quite big (6x6") and you have to use a special block (Mega Mount) for a perfect impression, but really worth the investment. Impression Obsession has come up with a lot of backgrounds so I'm sure you will find something you like (or eventually want them all...).

Isabelle stamped 3 different backgrounds on white cards (well four if you count 2 made with the same stamp but different inks)

She then made a beautiful tag using the different backgrounds she aged with DISTRESS inks

SIZZIX TIM HOLTZ die-cut: Tag
SPELLBINDERS Blossom 3
IMPRESSION OBSESSION Cover-a-card stamps : Gingham - Thin stripes - Wallpaper  , KATZELKRAFT Citations
Gold paint

Love this stunning tag. What do you think?
See you tomorrow for the first Impression Obsession calendar page.
