Fabric week: Card

Hi,
Hope you had a lovely sunny weekend.
This week, we are going to talk about FABRICI'm sure you have noticed that fabric is really everywhere at the moment and it's such a lovely addition to any project.
We, at the Craft Barn, have been gradually adding more fabric on our website each week and you can find it  HERE on our website, they are sold singly or in bundle.

To start of this week... gently... we have a lovely clean and simple card from Jane who used the fabric for strips on her card, but also with the Tim Holtz die.

*****

I have sort of used the Bargello technique, using strips of material to create the bachground. I stuck pieces of fabric onto a double sided adhesive sheet and then cut them into 1/2" strips. These were then arranged on a white card.

The rosette was made using the Sizzix Tim Holtz Rosette Die, again putting the material onto a double sided adhesive sheet and on the other side was just plain copy paper. This was was all run through the die cutting machine. The paper keeps the rosette nice and crisp and the double sided adhesive stops the material from fraying.
A Craftwork Cards message was used in the centre of the rosette.

  1. Lovely idea for using the rosette die. I'd imagine the fabric will strengthen the folds that can sometimes be a bit fragile with paper.

  5. Thank you for your lovely comments!! Yes the material does strengthen the rosette and because of the double sided adhesive there is no fraying!! It still cuts beautifully too!!
