DT showcase: Neil

Hi,
Time for our one and only guy on the team: Neil
He made some amazing samples once again this year and I am so glad we have him on the team. Thank you for all your hard work Neil x

As I did  for Karen, I asked Neil what his favourite sample was this year and he picked up one of my favourite too. This one.
And I asked him why...

Why, because I really love the owl. I enjoyed the challenge of working with product I had not used before (TAP paper) and when I look at it now, I still like how everything worked together.

I also asked Neil about his favourite product of the year. Here's what he said:

How can I just choose ONE? I look around my studio, stuffed full of amazing products that I use all the time and I'm stuck; I still adore my Distress Inks and Stains.....my stamps, my UTEE, my Idea-ology, tissue tape, my dies. Then there's the Dylusions inks that have taken the crafting world by storm this year, perhaps they take poll position...... , love them but not as my number one....... so what then? My eye falls on a little pot and the penny drops; this is it, my number one product, the one I reach for when a projects needs a little something more....... can you guess?

My pot of Viva INKA GOLD takes number one spot in a closely run race! In Old Silver or Lava Green (my two favourite colours) they are guaranteed to make an appearance on virtually all my projects as anyone who has attended any of my classes will be able to testify.
It's amazing stuff!

I went ahead and chose a few more of Neil's samples for this year... Here's my favourites.
Which ones were your favourite? Do you like Neil's work?
Now is the time to let him know :-)

See you tomorrow

DT showcase: Gio

Ciao :-)

Yup, it's Gio day today and I know that you all love her work and the way she manages to upcycle everything she puts her hands on.
So I'm not surprised that she picked the sample below as her favourite one she has made for us this year.
She said: "It represents perfectly my "creative" me.
It's pink, it's an upcycling project (it was an empty shower gel bottle), it involves my favourite techniques and products, like embossing, distress inks and glass beads, along with same metal and ribbon."

As for her favourite product this year, Gio said:
My fave product of the year could be Dylusion Inks, for their vibrant colours an mixability, the Tando clocks, handy, alterable pieces for a gift or home decor, the quality and versatility of the glass beads (not only for jewels) but if I have to choose one, maybe a product that can add a stunning finish to all my pieces, especially texturized ones, are Dreamweaver metallic F/X.

Here's a few more samples from Gio that I picked... (REALLY difficult to choose as I am  HUGE fan of her work)... which one was your favourite?
If you like Gio's work, now is the time to tell her in a comment below ;)

(I had to pick this card as she sent it to me and it's even more beautiful IRL ;))

See you tomorrow

DT showcase: Karen

Hi,

Let's have a look at Karen's work today.
Karen joined us earlier this year, first as a guest designer and then as a permanent DT member.

I asked which one was her favourite sample, and she picked up the one below she made for the PaperArtsy week.

I also asked her what her favourite product this year was, and here's her answer: My favourite product just has to be the TAP (Transfer Artist Paper) ! As a sewer I have loved using it on fabric. I have printed with it, stamped on it and just about slept with it till I ran out

I went through the blog again, and I picked up a few more of her samples I particularly liked...
Which one was your favourite?

Thank you Karen for being part of our Design Team. Looking forward to working with you more in 2013 xx

See you tomorrow
