Saturday Savers and watercolours - Gio

Hi,
Saturday Savers is back. I do hope you are enjoying this new Saturday feature as much as we are creating the samples. No exception with Gio today, who made the most adorable card from a Tim Holtz packaging and I'm sure she had a lot of fun doing so.

before

after

I upcycled the plastic package of the Tim Holtz embellishments: Film strip Ribbon.
I created an original card that could contain a mini album or just a message.

I cut a piece of white cardstock to size. I grated some flakes from the Inktense blocks on the craft sheet, then I spritzed water.
I swooshed the white cardstock on the craftsheet. When dry I added other shades.
I made the same for 4 little circle of white cardstock. I stamped the background using Dylusions stamps: Background love and Distress ink pad.
I stamped some text on a piece of gessoed Tim Holtz tissue tape and I adhered to the card. I stamped the sentiment on the little circles and I linked them with a jump ring. I slid the cardstock on the plastic package and I added the embellishments.

Gio used
Dylusions stamps: Background love
Tim Holtz embellishments: Filmstrip Ribbon ,
Light Bulbs, Tissue Tape Journeyman

Watercolour week - Sylvie

Hi,
Here's another water colouring technique for backgrounds using Distress inks. Sylvie has made four colourful cards and is taking you through the process step by step. Many of you will know this technique, but we often have newbies who will now enjoy making backgrounds this way.

Cut 4 pieces of white card the same size.
Press your Distress ink pads on your craft sheet, spray water and press your white card onto the inked mat.
Repeat with other cards and different colours.
You can place your cards under a heavy book to keep it flat

Stamp the JOFY images with Archival ink and colour them.
Once again, you can press your Distress inkpads onto your craft sheet, pick up the ink with a wet brush and paint as you would with watercolour. Sylvie used Promarkers... Copic markers would work too as well as Inktense watercolour pencils.
Cut your cards in 3, 4, 6 or 8 pieces and glue them onto black cardstock leaving a 2mm space between the pieces of card.
Mat and mount this onto more inked background or book pages

Distress Inks: Spiced marmalade, Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Rasberry, Shabby Shutters, Salty Ocean, Evergreen Bough, Squeezed Lemonade, Shaded Lilac, Picked Rasberry, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Pain
