I have bad news and good news today....
Let's start with the bad one... I'm really sad to say that both Michelle and Isa'sArt had to leave the Design Team and will really be missed. I love their work and wish them all the best.
Hopefully, Isa'sArt should be back with us later in the year as a Guest Designer.
On the good news side, well.. I had to find a new DT member and I'm sure you will approve when you see how talented she is. I have known her for quite a few years now and I'm so glad she agreed to join us.
Let me introduce Sylvie, aka Nefertiti.
Some of you might know her already as you would have seen her work featured on the Crafty Individuals' blog. If you don't know her yet, here is a link to her blog and a short presentation.
Hi,
I'm Sylvie aka Nefertiti on line, I'm French but live and work in Monaco.
I started crafting end of 2007. At first, I was mainly making cards, but then I starting scrapbooking, altering etc.
My style? I'm not sure, maybe vintage but I like trying all sorts.
I love cutting, building up 3D effects, inking, stamping... it has to have lot of details and layering.
Crafting is on my mind all the time and I like coming up with my own stuff and not always follow "rules" or techniques.
The only problem is that I am slow, veeery slow to finish something, but that's because I'm a perfectionist, I don't like rushing into things but I like spending time on details.
I am very happy to join the Craft Barn which is also my favourite on line store.
Sylvie is starting with a Saturday Savers project with a couple of beautiful samples using the JOFY stamps
Starting with kitchen towel roll, apply some Grunge Paste using a flexible template/mask and a palette knife
Leave some "gaps" to add the stamped images
Let it dry
Paint with Fresco finish Mermaid
Stamp and colour the mini images with Fresco Finish paints
Add more Fresco Finish paint (Nougat and South Pacific) on the texture using a piece of Cut n' Dry foam
Place a ribbon on the roll to cover and hide the "grooves"
Adhere your JOFY mini stamped images
Add a touch of Treasure Gold on the texture to highlight it even more
Stamp all the flowers on white cardstock, paint them with the Fresco Finish acrylics and cut them out.
Glue those on matching cardstock and cut them out again, leaving 2-3 mm around each flower as if you were mating them
Add the flowers in the "vase" and you have a beautiful home decor piece made from cardstock and a kitchen towel roll you were about to put in the recycle bin....
Sylvie also made this lovely hanging piece using recycled cardboard and another kitchen...
or is it a TPR? (toilet paper roll)
Techniques are the same as for the vase
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish acrylic paints: Nougat, Sherbet, Guacamole, Mermaid, Hey Pesto, South Pacific, Claret
PaperArtsy JOFY mini : N°9, N°10, N°11
PaperArtsy JOFY collection : N°10, N°11, N°12
Crafter's Workshop template: Harlequin
