As I mentioned earlier in the week, we are very lucky to have Chris Dark back as a guest designer.
Here's her first sample, which I'm sure you will agree, is truly stunning. Love those Sepia tones.
Hi everyone and it’s lovely to be back at the Craft Barn Blog as guest designer during December, I’ve missed everyone very much so it was a real pleasure for me to be joining in again .
For cute week, I’ve made a card with Stampavie’s Marion and coloured her in sepia tones which gives a slightly more elegant look for a cute stamp.
To make the card I created a card blank from the watercolour paper pad, cut a piece of waxed paper slightly smaller than the card, scrunched it up to make lots of creases then smoothed it out and attached it with wet glue which works best because of the wax finish.
Marion was stamped onto watercolour paper with Versafine Black ink and coloured using the two Distress ink markers Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain together with a paint brush and water for pulling out the colour. Where darker shadows were needed I used the darker Walnut Stain ink to give definition. The image panel was sponged with gathered twigs ink at the edges and then distressed with scissors before attaching it to the card. The edges of the card were also sponged with gathered twigs.
Using a small piece of Crunchy waxed paper in the Cuttlebug, I die cut the flowers with the Memory Box Fancy Blossoms die. As before I scrunched up the flowers to get creases, coloured them with the alcohol inks, layered them up and attached them to the card before adding a Viva Decor Pearl Pen pearl to the centre of each one. The card was finished with a Tim Holtz Ideology Chit Chat sticker that was sponged with the distress ink before applying it.
To make her card, Chris used

PaperArtsy Crunchy waxed paper
Memory Box die- Fancy Blossoms

I inked around the edge of my tag with Distress Inks....
I then stamped my image and coloured her with Copics to match the colours of inks used.

Jane's calendar is cute through and through... Love how Chris manages to tone down the cute and bring a bit of grunge, a bit a of vintage into the card.
ReplyDeleteBy the way Chris has been mentioned by Tim Holtz on his blog
Both are really beautiful, using two different ways.... Great work in the two cases, and very cute !!
ReplyDeleteEt sinon, je vois Isa que tu as retiré les options "J'aime"... Peu utiles selon toi ? Bises
