Classes

Classes

Hi Everyone!

Greetings from the cold, grey
south coast!  It is deserted outside
so I guess everyone is indoors
keeping warm.  Well, it is winter
after all.

Funny thing about this
season is that when thoughts of
winter come to mind - there are
blue skies, bright, white snow,
colourful hats and scarves and
always a little bird twittering
joyously............................

Leave you with that thought........

Something bright and cheerful to
focus on now.

Went to Helen Chilton's first
Kit and Kaboodle class yesterday
held in Lingfield by The Craft Barn.

Super class, lovely people and
great fun.  I may show you my
light box once I can find enough
daylight to photograph it....

However, we also saw what is
coming up next month:

It is a set of boxes that can be banded
together.  Each box holding, as
suggested in the picture, Tea or
Soapbombs

Would make a lovely gift BUT you
don't need to stop at Tea or Soap
they can hold anything you like

The boxes could also be used
individually for small gifts

I can see a scarf in one of these
boxes, tied with a pretty ribbon
and finished with a tag

Who wouldn't be pleased to receive one?
What would you put in one and who
would you give it to?

Sandy tells me it will be possible to decorate
wooden boxes if preferred

I should also tell you that Helen will also be
showing us a new technique using
Transfer Solution

So, just follow the link and you could be
having a great time at

on the last Saturday in February

PS: if you want to do a different filling
or use wooden boxes, or both
please ring Sandy to book

Hope those lovely, bright colours have
cheered your day

'Till Tuesday

Hearts and Flowers

Hearts and Flowers

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Have a bit of a confession to
make today - I didn't notice I
was a project short for the week
until this afternoon.  Oooops!

Bit late in the day to approach
the DT I thought .............

Searched through my stash and
found I had some Honey Doo Stamps
so without further ado I put together
a quick and simple card to share
with you

I masked off a strip on the bottom
third of the card using Post-It Notes
and taking a Smoothie and Abandoned Coral
Distress Ink I coloured the strip

The next stage was to stamp the main image
in Black Archival ink

So far, so good!

Time to colour in the image and
I just swooshed some Abandoned Coral
and Cracked Pistachio on my cutting
mat, add a little water to get the colours
moving and a paint brush

Then I stamped a few hearts
along the "ribbon" using the
Abandoned Coral Distress Ink
and added a greeting

I'm afraid I have no idea
who the greeting is by - it has been
on my desk since way back when.
Likewise, the heart is also anonymous

Materials:

Card Blanks
Honey Doo Stamps
Archival Ink
Distress Ink

I do admit to have secretely enjoyed
making this card for you.........

although I am sure you will greet the
Design Team with open arms
when they come back next week

"Till tomorrow

Hearts and Flowers

Hearts and Flowers

Hallo Everyone!

Today we have another card
project from Hazel Harler so
sit back and prepare to be
totally inspired

For my card I used a Honey Doo Crafts stamp and a Carabelle Studio mask

On a piece of white card sponge distress ink through the mask.
I used picked raspberry and scattered straw.

Stamp the image onto the stencilled card and onto white card

Colour the images, I used my Inktense pencils to do this

Cut out the pieces on the white card to 3D the image

Use silicone glue to glue the petals and leaves

I matted the topper to some black card
and then glued it to a card blank that I'd made out of a piece pink card.

I added a heart charm, some dew drops and stamped the sentiment..

A close up of the flower.

Supplies:

A gorgeous card Hazel
thank you

I will have to sit down
this afternoon and make a
start on the year's birthday cards
now that inspiration is tapping on
my shoulder......

'Till tomorrow

Hearts and Flowers

Hearts and Flowers

Hallo Everyone!

Finished all those lovely Christmas
goodies?  The chocs, the cakes,
the biscuits?.................

Wardrobe Gremlins shrunk
your clothes?

...........Time for the New Year Diet
then................Good Luck

Here is Louise Thomson with a
beautiful card to take your mind
off the D word! ......

I started by blending spun sugar distress ink
all over some smooth finish white card and then added
highlights using the candied apple ink.

I stamped the Honeydoo Floral Corner Flourish three times
to create a cascade effect across the page.

In the background I stamped parts of the stamp again
in spun sugar to create a light textured look.

I then painted the flowers using Fresco Finish paints
 in Pixie dust and Nougat.

I stamped the image again, then painted

and cut out the flowers.

Using the Nougat Fresco Finish paint I added little hearts
around the border, then joined them up using
a white gelly roll pen.

I inked up a spare bit of smooth finish card
using the same inks as before.
Using the gelly roll pen I added a message and doodled border.

Finally I assembled everything and added
wink of stella to the flowers for a bit of shimmer.

Products used;
Distress inksSpun sugar and candied apple
Fresco paintsPixie dust and Nougat

Beautiful card Louise and you have
managed to show us the shimmer you
get from the Wink of Stella ...... lovely!

'Till tomorrow

Hearts and Flowers

Hi There!

It is Burns Night, hope you
have got your kilt aired,
bagpipes ready and the Haggis
standing by -

Here's the first line of Robbie Burns
address to get you started.............

Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,

Great chieftain o the puddin'-race!
Aboon them a' ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye worthy o' a grace

As lang's my arm.

On the other hand, here at The Craft Barn
we have a new theme for the week and
to start us off, here is Craftyfield:

"Nothing like being prepared, so I thought I would make
a love themed card either for Valentine's day or just in case...

The Honeydoo flower stamps call for a CAS style,
so that is what I made.

I used coloured inks rather than black and, in the end,
the stamped image looked more than enough
so I didn't feel the need to add any colouring
with pencils or markers.

When I placed each stamp on my block
I slightly changed
the angle of the stem in relation to the flower head
to create that stylised heart between the 2 flower stems.

This is something you can do with clear stamps.

I inked the sentiment with pink, violet and blue inks
by just touching the edge of the pad on each area
of the sentiment for an ombre look.

I matted my image on pink cardstock and
layered it onto a white 6x6 card base.
3 little hearts from my scrap box
(waste from a die-cut If I remember correctly)
add the final touch.

I love how the flower design has the shadowed areas
already built in: it's easy to add colour if you want
but lovely just on its own too."

Supplies:
Honey Doo Crafts Clear Stamps: Lilies
Kaisercraft Love This :
Memento inks: (Black, Rose Bud, Bamboo Leaves)

Thank you Craftyfield for a gorgeous CAS card
to start us off

'Till tomorrow
