Artemio week: Jewellery

Hi,
Today is a Gio day and also one for jewellery. We all love our jewellery, don't we?
These earrings are large, bright and fun, but Gio also made an earring holder which I personally really LOVE.
Can't wait to read what you think ...

To make these earring I was inspired by summer and the new palette of Ranger Distress Inks, but, of course you can choose your favourite shades.
I stamped the on a piece of white shrink plastic with Jet Black StazOn: this is a perfect materials to make earrings due of its lightness and reliability.

After cutting them I coloured them with different shades of Distress Inks, blending the colours with cotton buds. At this stage I made two holes on opposite sides. Now it's up to you to shrink the plastic with the heat gun or not.
I prefer to leave them as they are because I wanted big and showy earrings, but for a smaller version you can shrink them. I added some glass beads and the Fish hook Earwire, linking them with jump rings.

For the paisley version I stamped the paisley twice on a piece of white and clear shrink plastic. I coloured the clear part with Distress Inks and then I glued together the clear and the white part. I made the holes and I added the glass beads.

For the earring holder: I painted the wooden frame with Americana Warm white, when dry I covered the bottom of the frame with Tim Holtz tissue tape. I stamped the borders and the sides with the same Artemio plate and Distress ink, to get a shabby look. I added to the bottom some screw eyes, you can use little nails as well.

To make her project, Gio used:

Distress Ink pad: Pumice stone
Tim Holtz embellishments: Tissue Tape Sketchbook
Glass bead mix: Amethyst

  7. Love both the earrings and the holder but will the distress ink ever dry on the shrink plastic.. especially without using the heat gun on it ?
