Morning everyone,
It's blue skies and sunny here in Surrey as I write this.
A bit different to the weather on the M1 and the M25 coming back from the Trade Show. Glad I wasn't the one driving!
The rain was so bad and traffic horrendous, blue lights flashing past
us and on the opposite side of the motorway but luckily no
accidents that we could see. Hope everyone got home safely.
I will tell you about the show another day.....
So, today we have a treat, Karen Gist who many of you will
remember as a member of our DT until recently has come back today as
a guest designer, kindly agreeing to do a project for us.
a guest designer, kindly agreeing to do a project for us.
I'm not sure that she actually had much choice after I caught unawares!!
Look how cute this is......spring is in the air.....
Karen says ...."The very cute Tando bunnies are one of my favourites so
I just had to have a play with them on this card!
For the background cut a piece of watercolour paper 5 inches square then using watercolour paints colour a sky and some grass as shown.
You don't have to be precise as the stamping will cover most of it.
Using the Crafty Individual CI-226 stamps and black Stazon, stamp
the different flowers to mostly cover the grass. Add the butterflies.
Using watercolour paints again pick out a few flowers & the
butterflies with a little colour. Lightly gesso the larger running rabbits
from the Tando Mini Pack then when dry paint with Fresco Paints.
I used Irish Cream with a little Chocolate Pudding added to it.
Paint the tails in Chalk and add a little highlight to their ears and
dot their eyes with a black pen.
Cut a strip of white card and, using small alphabet stamps, stamp
a greeting. Glue this over the background and matt and
layer onto contrasting card before attaching to a card base".
Thank you Karen, this is really lovely!
If you would like to have a go, here is what Karen used -
Tando Creative Mini Rabbits
Crafty Individuals Stamp - CI-395 (similar to the one I used)
Alphabet Stamps
Watercolour paper
Koh-I-Noor Watercolour Paint
PaperArtsy Fresco Paints - Irish Cream, Chocolate Pudding
Stazon Ink - Black
Gesso
Well that's our first Tando project for the week.
See you tomorrow with another,
Jane x
I'm surprised at how effective the streaks of green watercolour are... Once over stamped there is no mistaking them for anything but grass. The bunnies add a cute and fun touch to a beautiful scene.
ReplyDeleteOooh Karen, what a lovely and fantastic card!!! I LOVE it!!! Coco xx
