Circles - Neil Walker

Good Morning,

How are we all?

My computer has decided to die on me
and I'm finishing
this post from my iPad so I apologise
now if this text is different from the rest of
the post.  I bought myself an Apple MacBook
a little while ago but have not quite
mastered the differences between Windows
and Apple when writing these posts.
The actual text is not so bad but the
resizing photos is giving me some problems!
I hate change!! Still might have to get on with
it now!

So this week we gave the DT the word
Circles
this was because on 5th March 1963, the Hula
Hoop received its patent after being
invented in 1958!  Bet you didn't know that!

Neil will start us off......

Rather than a finished project this week I
thought I'd share a way of making a pretty
cool background paper. I've done this in
my journal though I think it would be pretty
good as a card background paper.

Use the mask and Distress ink to begin to add a
random set of circles to your page.

Repeat with another couple of colours. Use
the corner section of the mask to add detail
 to the corners.

Ink up the Cover a card stamp with the
same colours Distress ink and add random
stamping to the page. Keep the stamp off a block
and just press parts of it onto the page.

Cover the whole page with a lighter colour
Distress Ink and begin to add more stamped
images using the Seth Apter stamps.
(I love these!) in Archival ink.

Layer upon layer of circle goodness.....

Use the Tim Holtz masks and Ground Expresso
ink to fill in any gaps and add more detail.

Edge the page in Ground Expresso and you
are finished. I've done this page in my Journal
but I think it would make a cool background
paper for cards too. I may just have to wander
down to the studio again and try a couple of
 different colour combinations for cards.......

Alpha/Dictionary Challenge Winner 2016

Hellooo,

Tuesday again already and time to
announce the winner of the last
Alpha/Challenge using the letter

We had 36 amazing entries in total,
I'm learning lots of new definitions
as travel around your blogs looking
at your entries.
What a really clever lot you are too,
your entries are all so different
but all so lovely!  I'm so glad it
is not me choosing the winners!

Ok, let's get onto the important
stuff here, it's time to tell you
who our lucky winner is this time....

The Random Generator has picked...

Alpha/Dictionary Challenge 2016

Hellooooo,

Goodness, is it Alpha/Dictionary
Challenge again already?
Doesn't seem like 5 minutes ago
that I was writing the last post.
I think I'm getting old haha!!

So are we ready for the next letter??

Karen has picked.....

R

R for Karen's Rabbit
to add to her tray....

and from Dawn...

The other DT pics will be here soon!

We are getting lots of brilliant entries,
thank you so much to all of you
who take the trouble to join in
with our challenges!

You should know the rules by now!
You have two weeks, the link will close
at midnight on Sunday 20th March.  Entry
via the link where possible, if not email me
janecraftbarn@gmail.com
and I will add them for you!
The winner will be picked by
Random Generator and will receive
a £10 voucher.  The winner will be
announced on Tuesday 22nd March.

You need to pick a word beginning with the
chosen letter and add a definition
to your entry.  I decided it need not
be the actual dictionary definition but
a definition of some sort!! I thought this
might prove interesting and amusing plus be
slightly different for those who have already
played along with this Challenge before.
I am sensing that some of you are not
altogether happy with this idea?  Should
we go back to the original rules then??
Do let me know!
You can use any language for your
definition, it does not have to
be English!

Hope that all makes sense!

To all the mum's out there, have
a lovely day!  I was taken out for an
amazing dinner last night so my
celebrations have already started!!
And to all the non-mum's have a
lovely Sunday too, put your feet up
and have a nice relaxing day!!

Jane xx

Just adding this picture ....
