Simply Saturday is leafing too

Hi,
Last but not least, our Clean and Simple day with Gay's beautiful projects. How amazing does that box look? And love the cards too.

The book stamps from Tim Holtz are fab but it's not always easy to find a project to use them on as they are pretty big. I chose the smaller of the two and stamped it with stazon black on to acetate, let it dry (always longer on acetate) then glued the gold leaf to the stamped side again this took overnight to dry. I did it this way to protect the stamping and leafing, with any luck it should withstand being used. The masking pictures show how the sentiment just fitted perfectly ( this was stamped onto the front because the writing need to be the correct way to read) although I could have got it in the right place!! I made the box and inked the edges with distress inks, last of all I punched holes and attached the acetate cover with eyelets.

.

I used
Red Oxidating gold leaf
Tim Holtz, stamps book covers, Odds and Ends for the sentiment.
Distress inks in Black Soot and Vintage Photo
Acetate
Eyelets

Simply love gold leaf and here on my card I've used the very strong double sided tape to show the fab colours from the oxidating red gold leaf. The sticky back canvas is painted with Fresco paints and stamped with a flourish. I frayed the edges to give a little texture.

I used
Red Oxidating gold leaf
(ANY gilding flakes or leaves will do for either of these projects,)
Claudine Hellmuth's sticky back canvas,
Tim Holtz stamp Purely Random
Fresco paints in Guacamole, and Sky.
Americana in Bahama blue.
Strong DS tape
