Quintessentially English - Neil Walker

Good Morning everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying the nice weather, so nice to see
the sunshine.

This week we are featuring 'Quintessentially English'......you try
 spelling that!!

With St George's Day coming up we thought we would give
the DT the chance to think of something to do with
England.

This is what Neil said.....

"Something Quintessentially English...... there are so many things
that to me are English tea and crumpets, picnicking in the rain,
the bulldog spirit,

Big Ben and, of course Royal Ascot.

I think of horses naturally, top hat and tails, ever so slightly camp,
yet so frightfully posh daaahling. The sport of kings.

So here is my little homage to Royal Ascot".

I assembled the hat from The kit as per the instructions and when
dry I covered everything with paper tape for extra strength and
to add a slightly disheveled feel. When that was done I painted
the hat with Americana Black paint.

Use the Sweet Poppy stencil and gold paste to add the horse to
the brim and allow to dry.

When this is dry, neaten any seepage areas with black paint.
Tie a ribbon round and tuck a couple of little cards with R A on
into the ribbon. (I used printed cards though it is easy to make
your own with an alphabet stamp and a scrap of card).

Hopefully, we shall see Neil wearing this at The Craft Barn!

So this is what Neil used -

Tando Creative - Mad Hatters Top Hat

Love it Neil, although I'm not sure how dry it would keep you
with our typical English weather!

I'll be back tomorrow with another project,

Have a good day,

Jane x
