Grandparents - Dawn

Happy Weekend,

How are we all,
can't believe it is the weekend again
already.

Here is Dawn with our next project
for Grandparents Day!

Dawn says....
Hi all, this week's Grandparent's Day topic
is such a lovely occasion and perfect to
make a gift for my mum who is the most
amazing Grandma and our four children
adore her. Seeing as Gran gets a bit forgetful
and after asking the children, I decided
to make a couple of little notebooks that'll
fit easily into her handbag or keep with her
at home. The little sticky pads are ideal
for these. These can be adapted for
anyone by changing the colour scheme.
Definitely a keeper to make again.
My mini notebooks  are based on a
 three inch square paper pad.

To make this project -

Using a brayer and PaperArtsy Fresco Finish
paints, colour both sides of a sheet of A4
white card. Using darker shades on one
side and lighter on the other.

When dry cut two pieces from it measuring
 8 1/4 inches by 3 1/2 inches

With short edge at the top Score lines across at;
3 2/8 inches  (three and two eighths)
3 1/2 inches   (three and a half)
6 7/8 inches   (six and seven eighths)
7 1/8 inches   (seven and one eighth)

Fold on score lines then open out flat
Add details using the Tim Holtz stencil and
white paint with a stencil brush.

 Then,
some stamping with Stazon inks. Decorate
 further with Distress Marker and
 glitter glue.

 Leave to dry.

Attach magnetic strips on bottom inside
tab and outside bottom so they cling when folded up.

How nice is that, what a lovely idea!

So that is the last of the projects for this week.
If you are close enough to pop into the shop
today and see the demos, please come and
say hello.  Sadly these will be the last demos
in the shop :-( so do come and be inspired!

I'll be back tomorrow with our
next challenge!

  1. The masterboard is lovely and the finished articles are beautiful. Great idea for small gifts and with a magnet on the back they can also live on the fridge door!
I was coming anyway but, knowing this is the last, I wouldn't miss today's demo at The Craft Barn for the world...
