Stars and Stripes - Neil Walker

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the weekend, rain is forecast but
apparently it is going to be very hot here next week!
Whoop whoop summer is coming!!

So back to Stars and Stripes,
today we have Neil.

Neil describes this as a simple tag, I don't think I
would call it that.....it's beautiful!!

Colour a no. 10 tag with Distress Ink.

Lay mask on top and spritz with water. Remove mask and dry tag
to bring out the lighter areas.

Stamp the tag top and bottom with the cogs background stamp in
 both colours Distress ink.

Add some darker areas to the rays with Walnut Stain.

Stamp your sentiment in black Archival. Add a couple of chipboard
stars that have been given a few layers of UTEE, stamped
into and coloured with Treasure Brass.

Stamp the cogs background onto the top and bottom of the
tag using Versamark; add UTEE and heat. Add colour using
 Treasure Brass.

To finish the tag add some ribbon to the top.

I love that sentiment.......thanks Neil.

A lovely tag, if you want to have a go then
this is what you'll need -

I hope you are enjoying your weekend, I'll be back tomorrow
with our new weekly challenge so if you haven't entered yet,
you better hurry!!

Also it will be July soon so don't forget to get you June
Calendar page entered too!

See you tomorrow,

Jane x

  1. Lovely not-so-simple tag from Neil. He's been channelling his inner Tim Holtz...

  4. Simple?? Okaaaay then....
Very cool, a touch of TH about it, the Utee is a great idea too (I forget about using Utee, Ty for reminder). I have tried all week to do a piece for challenge but it's just been too busy. Only just catching up with blog. Next time, I hope!
