Simply Saturdays: Christmassy Tando

Jingle bells, Jingle bells, jingle all the waaaaay....
Christmas already? yup, with Gay it is... if you check her blog you will see that Christmas has been going on for a while.
She made the most gorgeous Christmas decoration as well as a lovely card.
Hope you like them

The circles in the pack seemed to me ripe for making into a Christmas tree. I wanted the whole project to be quirky and individual. Using card I made tubes to support the circles of laser cut board. Painted the board with Fresco chalk paint in Snowflake and followed with a coat of Metallic. Taking the Santas I coloured them with Copic markers and very carefully bent them into a semi circular shape, bending on the board and being careful not to break the joints between the sleigh and reindeer. I used Glue gel and built up the layers of circles with the card tubes between and added the Santas a layer at a time. Then came the pearls and the stars. Glitter into the glue gel is a little like snow and ice.
I know it's wonky :0) I wanted it even more lopsided but Santa was too tall and I had to accomodate his hat!

The card is a tando star painted with Picket fence crackle paint with irridescent glitter added before it dried and a huge pearl. The background is the Impression Obsession Snowflake stamped in Barn door distress ink onto dark red card and embossed with clear embossing powder.
