Hi there!

A new week; a new theme

and this week is no exception

We are starting off with 

Claire Jackson and a

variation on the theme..........

" When I get a new gadget I always try

 to explore different ways to get the most out 

of it and the We R Memory Keepers 

tabs punch board is no exception. 

It’s great for making tabs, file dividers and

 index cards to custom sizes but I wanted

 to see if I could use it in card making. 

First I chose three co-ordinating papers

 from the Kaisercraft high tea collection. 

It helps if one is relatively plain, one has 

a small pattern and one has a large pattern.

 I cut a 3cm strip from the plainest paper 

and adhered it to the right edge of 

the inside of the card.

The punch board comes with instructions 

but it is actually quite intuitive and easy to use.

 Flip the card over to the reverse and 

with the little stop in place punch the 

bottom corner of the back of the card. 

Take the stop out, turn the card over 

so you can see the pattered paper strip,

 line the corner up with the large tab 

mark on the board and punch 

the other side of the tab.

Use the trimmer on the punchboard to 

cut off the excess and leave a tab 

on the back of the card blank.

Repeat the process to make a tab on

 the top right of the card front. 

Adhere a strip of the large patterned paper 

on the left edge (optional to wrap it around onto

 the back of the card).

Stamp the flower into the centre of the

 card and add the birthday sentiment 

onto the two tabs

Stamp the flower several times onto the

 remaining patterned paper. 

Cut out one set of leaves and a flower head 

and stick over the stamped image on the 

front of the card.

 Cut away parts of a second flower head 

to leave the petals on the front of the flower.

 Put one or two foam squares into the 

middle of the flower head and 

decoupage the petals, gluing the tips 

down to make them curve downwards. 

Cut out the front most petal from 

a third image and stick it on, 

gluing only the base so that it stands out.

 I toyed with adding more stamping 

but in the end settled on the CAS

 (clean and simple) look. 

I’m definitely going to experiment 

some more with the tabbed template though."

Materials used:

White card blank 12.5 x 12.5 cm
Kaisercraft 6½” paper pad: high tea
WRMK punch board: tabs
Carabelle Studio cling stamp: the earth has music
Archival ink: jet black
Cosmic Shimmer glue
foam pads
sentiment stamp

A nice twist to start us off

with the Punch Board Claire

thank you....Nice papers too!

I have a friend with extreme

dexterity problems and I

think this style of card could

well ease some of her 

frustrations at her difficulty

in opening more regular cards
