Gifts under £5 - Neil

hello,
A lovely cute idea from Neil today which would make a perfect gift for teachers or grandparents.

I've used the Tando bird and owl that come in one packet (I've used two sets) I've used acrylic paints to colour them in. What's nice about these shapes is that all the details like the eyes, beaks etc have been laser cut so it is easy to paint.
Once the paint has dried everything was covered in a clear glaze and left to dry overnight before adding a magnet to the back and painting the rest of the back black to neaten it up.

To present them to the recipient in a more special way I took tags that had been inked, stamped a branch onto it and added a large metal brad.

The brads keep the bird nicely in place and I think it makes it look nice and special. Attach the tag to a card blank and you have a card and gift in one or slip the tag and magnet into the card

Branch stamp from urban tapestry - Tim Holtz (I've separated the bird from the branch)
