Upcycle week: Neil

Hello,
Beginning of the week, I promised a sample made from a box, well here it is with Neil

He"upcycled" a wooden suitcase that used to have a set of paints etc in for him to keep some of jhis journaling supplies in.

It started out like this

 and ended up like this

I started out by gluing tissue paper to both sides to give a bit of texture. I originally laid a random assortment of masks down and sprayed with Dylusions ink but to be honest the results were not great because the tissue is so absorbent the colours bled under. Live and learn!
Anyway, I then began to randomly add texture with the masks using Pearlescent paste. After that I spritzed some copper Perfect Pearl mist in places and left everything to dry.

Once it had dried I went in with a couple of stamps and just added a few images before sealing it with matte sealer spray so the colours won't run if it gets wet.

Materials
Dylusions ink - Brown and Blue
Masks - Shoal positive, Geometric, Sequin waste and Winged Pattern
Stamps - Purely Random - Tim Holtz

See you tomorrow
