Bubbles - Neil Walker

Hellooooo,

How are we all?

So, did you know that the 8th January is
 National Bubble Bath Day?
No?? I can't believe that.  I thought
everyone would know National Bubble Bath
Day, well, don't say you don't learn something
 here on our blog!!

Yes, we gave our DT the word bubbles
or circles if they preferred!
Anything round or bubbly!

Neil is here with us today to show
us what circles/bubbles mean to him....
(obviously not a big bath full of bubbles ha ha)

Quite a while ago I made a book from 12 x 12
card stock to make a tall narrow journal so
this forms the base of this project. To this
I added half of a Tando Creative Advent wreath.
The base element was covered in old book
papers and then the top circles were glued back in place.

The book was painted in PaperArtsy Fresco
paint in shades of blue. Some detail was
added with the lighter paint and the Speckled
 Layered Stencil.

I thinned down some of the paint and had fun
splattering away to add more "bubbles"

While it was still wet I used a moist wipe to remove
the splatters from inside the circles.

Once it was dry I stamped inside the two
larger circles with a Seth Apter stamp and
rubbed Archival ink in black over the raised
 elements and the edges.

A silver ships wheel embellishment glued
into the top circle with Faux Finishing Medium
 finished it off nicely.

The finished book, tall and slim with a lovely
nautical feel to it, Further stamping to the
cover with the stamp adds more interest.

Detail shot, you can see the stamping in more
 detail here.....

Well, what an amazing book, would make
a lovely present for someone!

This is what Neil used -

From stash -
Silver embellishment
Hand made book 12 x 6 inch

So that is our bubbles for today,
I'll be back tomorrow with some more.
