Altered Book - Neil Walker

Hi folks,

How are we all?

Hope you are all well and enjoying some sunshine,
thank goodness it is not quite so hot this week.

So what have we for you today?

Our brilliant DT were given the topic

Altered Book

This is what Neil has made for you.....

Well, it's sort of a book..... I just used the covers though.

                                           To turn into this..........

 to create this.........

To begin, remove the inside of an existing hardcover book
that is bigger than the planner you will be using.

Paint the outside

covers with a selection of Fluid Acrylic colours.

Cut a piece of Tim Holtz Tissue wrap and cover over the wet paint.
Press down and blend with a wipe. As the tissue is porous
 the paint will come through.

Fold over and glue on the inside with DecoArt Faux Finishing
 Medium.

Paint around the edges with paint.

Cut a piece of card to size using the planner as a guide.
Colour with paint and add further details with a mask before
adding stamped detail around the edges using part of the
 background stamp.

Stamp the Steampunk Angel and sentiment image in place.

Adhere the planner and the decorated card to the inside of the
covers. Stamp, colour and cut out a tag. Add double sided tape
to both edges of the tag.

Stick down shaping it around a pen.

Add further detail to the outside using the mask if desired.
Stamp the sentiment in place on the front too.

Your planner is ready.....

Wow, thank you Neil!!
I'd love to know if you read that book first before you
used the cover.  Did you see the title??

If you want to have a go, this is what Neil used -
