I hope you had a lovely weekend.
Were you one of the lucky ones able to attend the Extravaganza? I hope so!
This week, we will be featuring the lovely and funny Art Impressions stamps.
This is a stamp range we have added recently on our website (and in the shop of course) and it's sure to bring a smile on your face. When you go through them, you can't help but think "oh, I can relate to that"... "oh, that is soooo me" ... etc...
With the doom and gloom that sometimes surround us, it's nice to have a laugh and those stamps will sure do the job, whether you use the characters or the quotes (which I personally love)
Here's a few of the stamps we sell. There are A LOT more on the website. Click here to find them
We are going to start our week with Neil...
Now, I must share something with you. Don't think for one minute that it is an easy task to be on the Craft Barn DT... you might see it as "oh, it's cool, I get to play with a lot of craft stuff"... Well, that's very true... but it's still not that easy...
First you have to put up with me LOL. Nahhh, I'm not that bad really.. I care for them very much ♥.
Then, you might end up working with stamps or products you would NEVER have picked up because they are just "not you" ... Not everyone can do this... but I have the most AWESOMEST (as my DD would say) Design Team who is ready to take up any challenge... (or close enough)
And yes, Neil is definitely one I knew I would challenge with the "Art Impressions week".... Isas'Art is the other one... but still, they did amazing as they always do... wait until you see Isa's sample, I'm sure you would NEVER have thought of using AI stamps this way...
So back to Neil... a lovely clean and simple card... Distress free (can you believe this?), coloured with Copics. The kind of card we should all make ever so often, even if "you are not in that kind of things" because I'm sure there are people around you who would love to receive it!!
Also, colouring is very therapeutic. I'm sure that many of you out there will agree with me.

Here's my card for this week. AND NOT A DISTRESS INK PAD IN SIGHT so don't faint
Those of you who know me will realise that this is not really my "style" of image. Still I have to admit that I enjoyed the opportunity to dust off my copic markers and do a spot of colouring.
When I first saw the stamps, this is the one that caught my eye immediately. And possibly because my daughter was sitting watching sex and the city for the umpteemth time while I was in the room the words I've used popped into my head so I thought I'd better jot them down before I forgot them.
To make the card I stamped the image onto white card and coloured in with copics. I cut out the image and mounted onto blue card. The quote was printed and mounted on the same blue. I glued some ribbon along the bottom and attached the sentiment on top of it before adding the main image. Some sparkle gems either side just finished it off nicely too.
Colours of Copics used:
E93 - Skin
BV23 glasses
YR 23, E57 and R46 - Hair
B60 - shadows on the white
R85, B95, V15, G14, R46, YR23 - clothing etc.

Wow, so not Neil but so successful! I too would struggle with the challenge and admire anyone who rises to it AND produces such a lovely card!

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments.
ReplyDeleteNikkib, we have a search box top left on the blog. Type Copics and you will have a lot of posts coming up, I'm sure you will find some help in those. For example on this post:

I will ask Jane or Kay (Carley) for another step by step, so watch this space ;)
