Fabric week day 2 with Gio today and two lovely cushions she made for us.
Of course, being Gio, the fabric week would definitely be a Gio week... she can't be without her sewing machine !!
The cat's even got a piercing! Don't you love that ? lol
Love the soft vintagy colours on this, especially the pillow... I like this pillow a lot... (I can hear Gio from here: get your sewing machine out and make one! LOL)
For the cat pillow:
I cut the cat shape from a piece of calico, then I sewed it along the edges on reverse, leaving a small opening on the bottom. I sewed the front pocket using one of the fabric square from Kit fabric mix 6.

I glued the pink glass beads to form the nose and eyes. I hand stitched the whiskers using a pink thread. I stuffed the pillow and I sewed the opening. I cut a fabric square in half , I stitched it along two sides: I stuffed it and I glued it to the pillow to form the tail. I add some glass beads to a safety pin and I added to one of the ear.
For the rectangular pillow: I create some flowers from the fabric squares. I cut the square to form a long strip, then I started to roll and twist the fabric to form the flower, keeping it tightly between the fingers .
Tip:
the easiest way is to glue the flower to add a circle of fabric, but you can do it also with no support at all.

To make the pillow I use a cotton bag : first I swiped Picket Fence Distress Stain all over, then I stamped some swirls using the Impression Obsession Cover-a-card Swirl stamp and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. I decided not to cut the hands of the bag, I just put them inside with the stuffing. I stuffed the pillow and I closed the opening with some safety pin(you can stitch it, of course).
I glued the fabric flowers to the pillow along with some glass beads.
