Hope you had a lovely (sunny? dare I say?) weekend and that you are ready for another week of inspirations.
This week will be all about Dry embossing. We have not talked about dry embossing for a while so we challenge our DT to come up with different ways to use the lovely embossing folders.
We do have quite a selection of folders on our website: Sizzix, Craft Concept, Crafts Too, Creative Expression, Cuttlebug and of course the Tim Holtz ones (which are Sizzix too)...
To start this week, Michelle has come up with two bright and beautiful cards using the Waterfall embossing folder with the new SPRING and SUMMER Distress inks. Very effective if you ask me :)
Cute cards too... we don't often post cute cards on this blog.. what do you think? Would you like to see more? Let us know in a comment below...
I wanted to make something bright and breezy today (nothing to do with the fact that the new TH Summer Inks were sitting on my desk!!!
Al has been asking me if I had any shopping list pads in my stash but I didnt really want to hand one over that hadnt been 'altered' ....... do you think he'll like it?? lol
To alter the pad I took the front off it and measured, then cut a matching piece out of plain white card which I ran through the machine in the embossing folder. I also cut another piece of card the width of the pad x the thickness of the combined sheets plus 5 cm. After inking both pieces with the TH Distress inks, I scored the small card 2.5 cm from the two edges which were the width of the card. This piece was then adhered to the front inked cover then to the back of the pad.
I added a tab to put the pen in which was also inked and stuck on with PVA.
After stamping and colouring the gorguss girl and flowers with matching promarker colours I decorated the front cover just adding a few punched embellishments and micro beads.
The card was made in the same way with the addition of a multicoloured sentiment which was stamped with Kaleidacolor bouquet pad (a pretty neat match don't you think?
Products Michelle used
Gorjuss girls clear stamps: Little foxes
Kaleidacolor ink pad : Bouquet
Memento ink pad: Tuxedo black
See you tomorrow
This are very beautiful cards and nice summer colors. Love it.

ReplyDeleteSorry for the mistake, I wanted to say lovely bright card and shopping pad too !!
ReplyDeleteThese are both absolutely fabulous. I love the bright colours and matching elements. the gorjuss girls are coloured beautifully. yes I'd like to see more cute kinda creations. x you've inspired me to get bright x
ReplyDeleteI like this effect a lot - I must give it a try
ReplyDeleteI love the colours on this card - really funky looking and it saves a 'cute' image from looking too sugary. I'm not a big fan of cute but it takes allsorts and you have to cater to all tastes. I think the colours of this move it beyond the realms of cute and it's good to see other styles now & then.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours and dry embossing. Not a cute person myself (if you know what I mean!) but certainly admire all that colour work.

OH WOW!!!! These are just fabulous!!! Well done Michelle they are absolutely 'Gorjuss' :) Think I might need that embossing folder now ;) xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea Michelle. Both the pad and card are so cheerful and just make you want to smile. Neat use of that lovely folder too. I'm not keen on cute when it's overloaded with embellies but these are perfect.
