Wax, Paper & Acetate

Wax, Paper & Acetate

Hi there

Hope your week is going well
mine is flying by........... have lots
of birthdays this month so I'm
looking for all the inspiration  I
can get and today's project ticks
all the boxes

Without further ado let me present
another scrumptious project
from Angela Radford and here
she is to talk us through it:

Take two sheets of thin card and a sheet of wax paper. Screw the paper up into a tight ball then open it up and sandwich it between the two pieces of card.

Iron over the top of the card

The wax is transferred to the card by the heat of the iron and works as a resist which can be seen clearly when the distress inks are applied.
I also dropped water onto this which reacts with the distress ink to create the spots

I used the following stamps by Seth Apter to develop the design

to develop the design and then cut to size needed for the card

Next I took a sheet of acetate and cut this to size,                                 stamped the stars around the edge of it with embossing ink,                          added white embossing powder and heated it to create the border

I have also used a sheet of shrink plastic to create embellishments                       for the card using the star stamp.                                                               StazOn ink is best for this technique as it dries quickly on the slick surface. Colour these with alcohol pens.

I also added the star stamp to the card blank

We now have all the sections needed to complete the card

When putting these together I used narrow strips of the acetate to attach the shrink plastic stars which were mounted between the matting and layering.

 Here is the finished card

The sentiment was a stamp from my stash but could also be printed from your computer

A lovely card Angela, who knew
wax, paper and acetate could be such fun?!....

Thank you

See you tomorrow folks
