At the movies - Helen Chilton

Hi,
Hope you had a great weekend :-)
Helen Chilton is back with us today for the first project of our "movie" week. With the Oscars and all the movie festivals coming up, we thought we would have our own movie time.
So for those who are actually reading my daily chatter (lol), let me know in a comment below... what is the latest movie you watched at the cinema? and how did you like it?
But before you do this, take a look at Helen's step by step for this chunky canvas, which I must say is my all time favourite of hers ;)

For this theme I've chosen a well known classic film: Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds". It was the two sets of Crafty Individuals stamps with crows that made me think of it.

1.Prep the canvas with the white snowflake paint and then paint over with the Stone and Mulch paints.

2.Put the tree stencil on the canvas and paint over with a lighter mix of Stone and white. Move tree stencil down to extend the tree trunks.

3.Your Canvas now looks like this.

4.Place the tree stencil back on and overlay with the circles. Paint in a sun with Butternut and a touch of Pumpkin Soup.

5.Replace the tree stencil and stamp a selection of smaller birds through the branches in black.

6.Paint some card with the Butternut paint and die cut the letters for the film title. Paint some card in Stone and die cut the name Hitchcock using a different font. Cut same letters in black to add shadows.

7.Stamp lots of the crows in black, add colour using the Pumice Stone and Iced Spruce inkpads and cut out.

8.Stick to the canvas curling the wings slightly.

9.Die cut some filmstrips in black and stick round edges.
