Punch Board - Elizabeth Hammond

Morning all,

Hope you are having a nice warm, sunny week wherever
 you are!
I'm hoping summer is arriving here in the UK at last but
who knows could be snowing here tomorrow!!!
Hope not.

Ok today we are bringing another fabulous project using
Punch Boards by our guest designer
Elizabeth Hammond,
those of you who visit the shop or phone will, I'm sure
have spoken to her!
Elizabeth has created a beautiful gift bag for you -

To make Elizabeth's bag.....

Cut the Maja Design Paper to 6" x 12" to make the base of the
Gift Bag and follow the instructions printed on the Punch Board
to make the medium sized bag...

Punch holes along the top of the bag using the reverse side of
the board so you can create the handles....

Crease the score lines with the score tool and use Stix2
ultra clear tape to stick the bag together....

Using the Sue Wilson Camelia dies, cut the two layers of the
flowers in different colours from Coredinations card.....

Layer and glue the flowers together in coordinating colours, then
shape the flowers using the handle of your scissors
 or a shaping tool....

Cut some leaves in the two shades of Coredinations card.
Layer and shape them in the same way as the flowers.

Arrange the flowers and leaves on both sides of the bag and
 stick with tacky glue.....

Thread the ribbon through the holes and cut to the length of
the handles you require.....

Finished !!

Isn't that just lovely, wouldn't you be over the moon to
receive that, no matter what the gift was inside!

Punch Board - Dawn Heald

Hi everyone,

Welcome to another week here on The Craft Barn Blog!

If you have visited the shop at all in the last few months, you
will have noticed that we have quite a few different
Punch Boards in stock for creating different projects.

So this week that is what we shall be featuring and a few goodies
you can make with these very easy to use boards.

We will start the week of with Dawn and what she has used
her chosen boards for.....

Dawn says -

I've been looking forward to this week's topic as these
boards are genius. They're versatile, easy, fun and work
well with the other WRMK boards.

This is what I wanted to show
how combining the boards is great crafting.
With supervision my
children also liked using them as they could create something
 that was quick to make.

I decided to make two banner pieces for our little girl
Katie's 5th Birthday on 24th June. With this in mind,
they had to be colourful, bold, pretty and include some bling.

I trimmed and punched all my pieces before getting the inks
out so I didn't have to keep washing my hands between or
 get ink everywhere.

Here's how to make them -

Trim blue and pink card 8 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches. Then trim
blue and pink pattern papers 8 inches by 5 inches. Use Banner
Punch Board to create banner shapes.

Next trim four pieces of green patterned paper 4 inches x 4
inches square. Use Pinwheel Punch Board and create two
A and two B shaped pinwheels.

Next cut the two pink and two blue patterned papers 1 3/4 inches
by 6 inches. Use Flower Punch Board to create four flowers. Use
some of the left over plain coloured card from the banners and
 punch and shape some leaves.

Die cut your letters and numbers using Sizzix
Word Play.

With the Pinwheel shapes, on the white reverse side, repeat
stamp the lined flower in Mowed Lawn Distress
 Ink.

Apply coordinating Distress Inks to all the edges of everything
you've trimmed and punched. Assemble the flowers and
 pinwheels.

Double punch some scallop circles as shown from yellow pattern
paper. Keep the small circles and emboss from behind to curve
the circle into a dome shape and glue these to the flower centres.
Repeat the circle dome from pink and blue card for pinwheel
 centres.

Now it's time to put it all together. Stick the pattern banner shapes
to the main base card banners. Glue the holey scallop circles to
decorate the background. Then glue gel your pinwheel, flowers

and leaves to the banner shape as shown. Glue buttons and
gems and die cut number to banner  and add the lettering
to flower centres. Finally thread ribbon through the holes
(I did two at each corner by putting card corner in on both
sides when punching the holes with punch board) at top
 corners to make the hanger.

What a beautiful idea for a banner, hope your daughter
loves them, I'm sure she will!!

This is what Dawn used if you want to have a go....

Diamonds White on Magenta, Diamonds White on Cyan,
 Diamonds White on Spring Green,
Small White Dots On Pale Yellow.
A4 300gsm Coloured Card - pink, blue, white
Woodware Large Circle and Big Scallop Circle Punches
Distress Inks - Mowed Lawn, Picked Raspberry,
Salty Ocean, Mustard Seed.
Green Buttons

Well, that's our project for today, join me tomorrow
for another amazing creation using the Punch Boards,
this time from our Guest Designer!!!

See you then,
