Fashion week - Jane

Hi everyone,
Hope you had a lovely, sunny and crafty weekend.

This week we are going to talk about fashion, with, more than ever a lot of different interpretation from our DT. Wait until you see Neil's project ;-)

Let's start the week with the lovely Jane who is back after a well needed break (so I guess pink and purple will be back too LOL).
Jane used the Katy Sue Designs stamps and papers (printed from the CD) to make her gorgeous sample...

For my project I have used the Fabulous Shoes Designs Collection 3..

The paper was from the Fabulous Shoes Designs CD Rom, and has lots of lovely papers, projects etc for you to use.
The stamped image was coloured with Copic Markers.
Before assembling the card, stamp extra berries on your base cards to show under your image and colour lightly with Copics. Remember that the colours will show through your base card if you cover too heavily!
TIP
The white organza ribbon was coloured with Copic markers to match the image. I used two different colours to give it a slightly stripy finish.

Jane used
Memento Inks - Tuxedo Black
Copic markers - YR20, 31, Y21, V01,12, 15, 17, W2, 3, 5, C0, 1, 2,

Saturday Savers: Background week - Neil

Saturday Savers
a dedicated day of stash using, recycling, upcycling and general planet saving!

Hello :-)
Saturday Savers today and Neil is with us to share the frame he got at a pound shop and altered using PaperArtsy stamps.

I have to confess that I am a charity shop/ boot fair/ junk shop/ pound store fan. They are rich picking grounds for goods to alter and they don't break the bank! For this weeks Saturday Savers I decided to work with this frame picked up for less than a pound.

I removed the top layer of pink card and used it as a template to cut my own piece out of white card to use as the base. I started by creating a background. One of my favourite ways of creating a layered background is by working with Distress inks and stamps. By stamping and blending the same colour on top (As you can see in this photo where I've stamped the image in Peeled Paint and blended the same over)

Once the first colour is done then do the same using a different colour. I used 3 colours to build up depth, Peeled Paint, Fired Brick and Walnut stain)
I then stamped the fish in Coffee Archival ink and coloured them with Distress Markers so you end up with something like this.

The main image has been stamped in black Archival and coloured in with Distress Markers, the background is Distress ink and a splash of Perfect Parl mist to add shimmer. Once it was all assembled I added the tokens to the frame and a couple of clear "dewdrop" gems to the glass to highlight parts of the image.

Neil used
Stamps LPC024 Paperartsy
Distress inks and markers - Peeled Paint, Fired Brick Walnut stain, Spun sugar (Marker only)
Perfect Pearl mist - Heirloom Gold
Archival ink - Coffee and Jet Black
Oriental coins (Woodware)
