Hi everyone,

Hope you are having a good week!

First of all, welcome to our new followers,
hope you are enjoying our blog and join in with our
challenges.....the more the merrier!!
It is quite easy to join in either by the link on
challenge posts or if you are unable to do that you
can always email me here on
janecraftbarn@gmail.com

We want everyone to be able to join in so if you don't have a
blog or can't work out the link, don't let that stop you!!

Ok, I'm sure many of you have seen on the news this week
(other than the election reports in the UK...yawn yawn)
that this week on the 8th May, it is the 70th Anniversary
of VE Day!!
So we have decided to honour that and the armed
forces this week in our posts.

Today, we start with Neil.

He says...

"I decided to make a scrapbook layout commemorating VE day using
old bunting, newspapers and photos discovered in
 Aunty Jane's belongings.......

(Actually I'm kidding, I just had fun making the bunting and bits.)

To make the bunting I measured and trimmed some white card to size.

I used the mask and Distress Markers to add the flag to the pieces.

Then, it was time to add a little "age". So they were crumpled
 into a ball.

Opened out and a Distress ink pad swiped over the top to catch
the creases.

I used a moist wipe to blend the colours before punching
holes and threading the flags onto string.

I aged a couple of images and began to stick everything down.

I  finished by adding some stamped detail and ephemera;

and distressing and inking the edges".

Oh wow, love this, what fabulous bunting!!

It must have been an amazing day, all those years ago.

This is what Neil used -

Distress Markers - Faded Jeans, Barn Door
Distress Ink Pads - Gathered Twigs, Brushed Corduroy
Kaisercraft Clear Stamp - Document

Thank you Neil,

I'll be back tomorrow with a project from Heidi,

See you then,

Jane x
