Cute week - Gio

hi,
If it's cute with Gio, there will often be a cat close by :o)
Here's her calendar for this week with a great technique for the background.
How pretty is this?

I cut a piece of cardstock to size, then I covered it with a mixture of gesso and baking soda using a palette knife. I used the heat tool until the surface started to bubble, then I stamped using Hobby Art Clear Stamps: Decorative Backgrounds pushing heavily. When dry I sprayed the surface with Cosmic Shimmer Mister: Lava Red, Mango Blush and Teal Wash. I highlighted the raised areas with several Distress Inks.
I gessoed and stamped, using the same plate, the Tando Creative: Cat Set Small chipboards and some circles from a crossword. I coloured them with several Distress Inks .
I glued the circles and the chipboards to the calendar along with the month.

To make her calendar, Gio used

Cosmic Shimmer Misters: Lava Red, Mango Blush and Teal Wash
Tando Creative: Cat Set Small
Hobby Art Clear Stamps: Decorative Backgrounds

  4. Baking powder... yeah, more reason to raid the kitchen cupboard ! (Last week, for the calendar challenge, I was using salt and vinegar). Lovely page.
