Hi there!

This week we are going to be looking at
Dimensional projects and to start us off
we have

Crafty Field

Here she is with her project:

Today I have a quick and simple project to alter a recycled metal tin.

This is a recycled chocolate box but think pencil case, glasses case, make up case, etc... Perfect for personalised stocking fillers!

I cut 2 pieces from the sheet for the top and base, making sure to select the best placement for the design. It doesn't need to be precise as when wet the sheet will tear off easily and the excess removed.

I coated the lid with Mod Podge and applied the rice paper on top cutting slits in the corners and repeated for the base of the box.

When dry I applied 3 coats of DecoArt Soft Touch varnish. This is a difficult to describe as to understand this product you really need to touch it but as the name says it gives a soft finish with a matte look.

To apply the Mod Podge and the Soft Touch varnish I used a Distress Collage Brush (Ranger). It is designed to apply smooth, even coats of product and speeded up the varnishing

On the inside I placed some recycled magnets to keep disparate eyeshadow, blusher pans from budging.

Thank you Crafty, this would certainly make an excellent stocking filler
and there is a huge choice of papers too.  Something for everyone I shouldn't wonder
