Starlight Express
Morning all!
Getting excited now -
local folklore has it that
come the second Saturday
in February you will have
your tea in daylight......
....Bring it on.........
Yes, ok, that's enough
Back to today and here
is Helen Chilton:
Hello everyone, Helen here with a post using
the beautiful, shimmery Starlight paints.
Paint the papier mache house with gesso..
And then in Jade and Apple Green Starlight paint.
Stamp the Kaisercraft script stamp all over in
Archival Watering Can grey.
Stamp the Four Poppies from Imagination Crafts in black.
As the house has some 'give' in it, the easiest way is
to not use a block so that you can really press down on the stamp.
Overpaint liberally with Emerald, Orange Oxidised and Bright Fuchsia
paints and then heat to get them to bubble up.
Stencil over in Chartreuse using the Tim Holtz stencil Bricked.
Repeat over the top with Turquoise.
Cut a strip of card for the roof and, using Grunge Paste,
stencil using the Kaisercraft Geo Quarters template.
Paint the roof with Chartreuse and Turquoise paints
and add embellishments to finish.
Materials used:
Imagination Crafts stamp: Four Poppies
KaiserCraft texture stamp: Script
papier mache house
Starlight paints: Emerald, Orange Oxidised, turquoise, Apple Green, Chartreuse and Bright Fuchsia
Stencils: Tim Holtz Bricked; Kaisercraft Geo Quarters
Thank you Helen -
it really is a lovely project.
For anyone who has not tried
these paints please be aware
they should come with a health warning
as they are highly addictive and
you will want to use them everywhere!
There is a huge colour range and the paints are easy clean up too.
What more could you want?...............!!
'Til tomorrow
Mickie xx
Roll on the lighter days Mickie, I can't wait. Those paints do look really scrummy, I haven't seen them before. Helen has showcased them beautifully xx
