Spring Bouquet - Neil

Hi,

Neil is with us today with two gorgeous and colourful tags... Neil used the newly released Tim Holtz Distress paints and the JOFY stamps. A lot of cutting and 3D mounting for a couple of layered and dimensional tags.

I was playing around with some of the new Distress paints on a #8 tag.
I know that they are water reactive but for the first layer I just used the paint and let it dry.
Once dry, it is waterproof and I stamped the flowers in black Archival ink and dried it.
I then added some further colour by adding colour direct to the tag, I like the circle effect it gives, and I softened it with a bit of water.
I wrapped some twine around the tag and fastened a bow.

I then took a #10 tag, scrunched it up and dragged the Peacock Feathers Distress Pad over the raised areas. I scrunched it again and took the Picked Raspberry over the tag.
I spritzed it with water to wick the colour and then ironed it dry and flat. I coloured the tag with Wild Honey Distress ink and added some detail with my winged mask and Picked Raspberry.
Both tags were edged with Black Soot to add contrast, it really lets the colours pop.
I used 3D foam to add the small tag to the other.

I stamped the JOFY images onto white card and coloured with Distress Markers before adding them to the tag with foam pads..
I love the layering and dimension on the tag

To finish I popped on a couple of flowers made previously using the Tim Holtz tattered flower garland die, stamped the Don't eat the Daisies and cut into a pennant.

Material used
Distress Paints - Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Broken China, Seedless Preserves
Distress Inks - Black Soot, Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Wild Honey
Distress Markers - Various

See you tomorrow
