At the seaside - Di Oliver

Hi,
July 1st today... hopefully weather will be summery (don't know yet as I type this), but in case it's not summery enough for you, we are going to give you a little taste of holiday this week and we are taking to you the seaside...
Well, not quite, but the DT has been focusing on seaside related samples and I really hope you like them.

And if one good thing was not enough, here's another: we have Di Oliver (aka Mrs Tando Creative) with us this week with this beautiful boat project.  Truly love this Treasure of the Ocean sample. How about you?
------

The bottom of the boat and oars were painted in PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paint Sky first of all.  Then a layer of Crackle Glaze was applied, left to dry and then painte over with Inky Pool.
Leave some of the paint quite thick in places.  The cracks will start to appear immediately.
Dry off with a heat tool but before the paint completely hardens peel off the paint in the thick areas so there are larger areas of the colour underneath.
The top and sides of the boat and the lace border shelf were painted in London Night first, Crackle Glaze applied and then painted over with Nougat, then some Inky Pool was dry brushed in random places.
The bottle and jars were painted and then stamped with the Crafty Individuals stamps, highlights were picked out with a white pen.
The Treasures of the Ocean stamp was stamped onto white card and the edges were torn and inked.
The bottles and jars are mounted onto small pieces of chipboard to give the overlapping 3D effect.
