Wax. Paper & Acetate

Wax, Paper & Acetate

Hi everyone!

It's Friday - again.......
comes round quick doesn't it?
I'm beginning to think an extra day
in the week would be good -
maybe a "just me" day - to sit back,
relax and..........breathe!

Right, back to it then and here's

Helen

Loved making this even though it didn't turn out as planned -
it sort of took a different turn on the way.
I had a lot of fun sorting through my mountain of papers
to choose some to put underneath my acetate
- in the end I chose two pieces from Bo Bunny Dreamer.
Using acetate means there are two sides to work on
which always adds an extra depth.

Lay your stamp on a firm surface a and ink with Ranger Archival black

Lay acetate over the top and roll over with a clean brayer.
The image will be on the reverse of the acetate

Add extra branches as you wish by just inking up
part of the stamp

Press acetate onto background while still wet to get
a ghost image

Ink up script and stamp on the front of the acetate

Rub out any script that has gone over the plant stems

Place leaf underneath to see where you want it to go and then stamp. This is how you build up the collage step by step:

Here's the background with two patterns of paper and
ghost stamping

Next stencil lightly using Carabelle Studio stencil
'Trames et Rouages' MA60047
and Distress inks Tattered Rose and Shabby Shutters:

Flip over acetate and paint on the reverse using
Starlight paints Menthol, Orange Oxidised, Rich Gold and Platinum:

While the paint is still wet stick to background

Get out your Treasure Gold - Amber Green and Florentine -
and colour your metal embellishments
to coordinate with your project:

Apply the embellishments to the project as you wish

Materials Used:

Beautiful project Helen.  Thank you

I do like the extra layer created with acetate
- keeps postage costs down

See you all tomorrow

Mickie xx

  1. I so love the depth you can get with acetate and as you say it's still quite flat which is important if you are posting your makes. Happy crafting, Angela x
