Crafty Individuals week with Neil

Hi,
Neil is with us today with a beautiful card and great step by step to show you how to use the masks with inks but also with embossing paste.
Here's the material that he used

And how he made the card...

To begin I coloured the base card with Wild Honey Distress ink and using the same ink I stamped the image at different angles over the whole page.

Taking the mask and two colours of ink (Fired Brick and Forest Moss) I used the mask to add interest to the paper, mixing the colours and moving the mask.

To end up with this

Next I took Dreamweaver Pearl paste and using the same mask I added texture to the top and bottom sections (remember to clean your mask straight away!)

Once that was done I set aside to dry and stamped the image onto white card, coloured with Distress ink in Fired brick, Frayed Burlap and Forest moss, the same with the bird. The bird was stamped onto with the same stamp too.

To finish I mounted the base onto black card and mounted onto the green card blank. The second layer was also mounted onto black, the bird attached and the whole thing mounted onto the card with 3D foam.

  3. Love the inking over the stencil and the main image. The texture paste, I would like to see darker than the background for a bit more contrast.
