Card-I-O

Card-I-O

Hi there!

Can you believe we are half way
through the first month of the
New Year?

Time just goes whizzing on.......

Except here, where we aim to
help you rest and relax for a moment

Today, Claire Jackson has an idea
for to take away the "difficult" from
those difficult men's cards.....

"It’s often difficult to think of designs for men
but Card-io stamps are very versatile and combine together
to create an endless variety of scenes,
which can instantly become more masculine
with different colour inks.

Cut a 5” square of white card.

Stamp the buildings in the foreground in eggplant.

Mask the foreground buildings off and stamp the church
and a small building in perfect plumeria

Leave the masks in place and use a
torn piece of card to create a hill line.

Using a sponge add Spanish olive to create hills and grass

Stamp the branch around the top in jumbo java,
repeat each time before reinking to get second and third impressions.
This helps to add depth.

Add a row of bottles at the bottom

Cover over the bottles with a piece of card
so that the bottom edge lines up with the base of the bottles.

Stamp the leaf in different colours to create a shelf.

Add the glass and bottle opener

Stamp the leaves and hops over the branches in different colours,
each time stamping two or three times before inking the stamp again

With a sponge gently add diffuse green ink over the leaves and branches
and around the edge of the card to create a border.

Add a sentiment around the edge.

These stamps are great for quickly making batches of cards.
Play around with different colours for different seasonal effects.

Thank you Claire for a super card
with a masculine feel.  Normally
so hard to do

'Till tomorrow everyone

    1. Thank you. I know a female brewery owner so she might get a more feminine version in due course!
