Happy New Year
to you all!!
Hope it is a good day wherever
you are. It is miserable and wet
down here on the coast and a bit
chilly with it too.
However, let us not get despondent,
it is Challenge Day after all so we
shall continue to celebrate...........
Hurrah!!
This Challenge is based on
Sara Coleridge's poem:
The Months
Your project can take whatever
form you like - Postcard, ATC,
Tag, Journal Page, etc, etc
You have three weeks in which
to complete your project
You may enter as many times
as you like via the link
The winner will be chosen by
the Random Generator on the
following Tuesday
The rhyme for the particular
month must be shown
There will always be a challenge
and this must be included
So, let's get started. The rhyme is
January brings the snow
makes our feet and fingers glow
Claire Jackson will be providing us
with a beautiful canvas each month:
And the Challenge is...............
you must include a bird in a wellington boot
If you are unable to use the link
please email your project to me at
mickiecraftbarn@gmail.com
and I will add it for you
Have fun and I look forward to
seeing all your lovely projects
The link closes at midnight
on 22 January 2017
'Til Tuesday

These will be the last two numbers on the list
Oh what fun Mickie. I love that poem. Claire's canvas is really stunning. I really hope to join in again and there is less pressure than the dictionary one as 2 weeks was quite tight when life got busy. Can I check one thing...does it have to be the same format every month? I found having to make AJ pages for every letter became quite restrictive. I would like the choice each month..a card, AJ page or tag etc if that's OK? Soooo a welly boot and a bird...I'll put my thinking cap on. Happy new year xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it Jane. You can use whatever format you like month to month - choice is up to you. xx
DeleteBrilliant xx
DeleteThank you Jane. Looking forward to seeing everyone's ideas. Xx
DeleteJust to clarify do you mean a bird wearing a wellie or a bird perched on it?
ReplyDeleteCan I just say, yes?! The English language is a wonderful thing isn't it? Especially when the punctuation is missing. Hehe! You are the artist and I leave the interpretation to you xx
DeleteSuch an imaginative idea and love the twist, now it will be tricky for those that think they can get ahead of the game!! :) Rachel x
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel - thought this might be a good challenge for your journal! xx
DeleteI like the sound of this challenge so will definitely be taking part! 3 weekly is good for me too as the weeks seem to fly by so quickly these days! Happy New Year xx

DeleteGlad you will be taking part xx
oooooooo, I like the sound of this challenge, something a tad different to get stuck into. Will certainly aim to join in this year. I'm in the West Midlands and the weather is dark, wet and dismal too.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you all. X
Hallo Sue, be lovely to have you join in. Sorry your weather is as bad - I always hope somewhere in the country there is a patch at least of nice weather, especially on New Year's Day..... xx
DeleteSounds good fun! Will try and join in! xxx
ReplyDeleteBe good to have you join in - I do so like visiting all the blogs xx
DeleteSounds like fun. I'm confused, though. What is a Wellington boot?
ReplyDeleteThink you call them gum boots Sybil. Look forward to seeing you in the challenge xxx
DeleteSybil in America they're called gum boots/ rain boots/galoshes I believe.

ReplyDeleteThank you Jane. I think it may well catch on...........! Xx
DeleteThank you Jane. I didn't know Mickie was going to introduce the twist...I think I got off lightly!
DeleteInteresting! I'm glad we have 3 wks as it's going to take me that long to decide what format and how I'm going to add a bird and a boot!!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing what you decide to go with Elaine. Have fun xx

DeleteHi! The challenge looks awesome, got me thinking right away, LOL. Just one thing, I'd like to ask. Does the rhyme have to be written on a project, or is it ok to just the take a "theme" of the rhyme?
ReplyDeleteMy understanding is the rhyme has to be shown but Mickie is ultimate adjudicator. Have fun letting your imagination run wild. Xx
DeleteHi there! Welcome to the challenge. Yes, the rhyme has to be shown on the project. Look forward to seeing your entry xx
