Gifts under £20 - Bags

Hi,
Coming to Christmas means that we have to start buying gifts, and we don't want to leave it too late to avoid the Christmas rush.
Now here's another way to avoid the long lines in the shops. How about making some of your gifts this year?
It's personal, original and will always be appreciated.
November is our "gift month". We started with candles/candle holders last week, which can made great gifts.
From this week, we are going to give you some inspiration and ideas on what gift to make and how to make them.
This week, we start with gifts under  £ 20. We challenged the team to use products under £20 (for the main product.. then it's inks/stamps etc. from their stash... but we all have this, don't we?)

Let's start the week with Karen, and those beautiful Mummy and daughter bags. Now that is a fantastic idea. I know one little girl in my house who would love this!

I have kept the decoration on this shopping bag flat & light because I still wanted to fold it up to put in my handbag or pocket but you could really go to town with this! I also made up a mini version for the little Miss who like to copy Mummy!

Firstly cut a piece of card to just smaller than the bag and insert inside...this is so that you have a flat surface and also to protect the other side. I used a lovely stamp by Impression Obsession (J2011) which can be used as a border, although I didn't line it up too well, it still works :D. I used Memento ink to stamp and then lightly coloured with Promarkers. Don't go right to the edges as the ink will bleed a little. Then a little light touch with my favourite crackle stamp & some matching Brilliance ink. I finished it off by tying some ribbons around the handles.

  4. What a lovely idea. I use various cloth bags when shopping. More environmentally friendly than plastic and to have one personally decorated would be lovely and useful gift.
