Hope you had a lovely weekend.
This week will be all about VELLUM.... the different ways to use it, colour it, how to attach it on your sample etc... You will see that the team has, once again, come up with wonderful ideas.
We sell the Pure White Vellum, which is the most versatile as you can colour it any way you want, but also emboss it, stamp it, tear it, fold it (to make mini envelopes) etc. and of course use it for Pergamano work.
CHRISTMAS VELLUM CARD
(by Karen)
The vellum was coloured with Alcohol inks (Lemonade, Butterscotch & Meadow) the die cut with Sizzix Tim Holtz Pine Tree.
I went round the edges of the card with Wild Honey Distress ink, adding a bit of stamping.
The tree was sewn on with a machine.

VELLUM CARD
(by Neil)
I used a Crafty Individuals mask and laid a sheet of vellum over itt and embossed it with an embossing tool. I then turned it over and using distress markers in Dusty Concord and Crushed Olive I coloured it inside the white lines. Once that was dried I used Worn Lipstick distress ink and a blending tool to lightly colour over everything. When you flip it over you get a lovely soft colour through.
I Torn it down the sides and attached to a white card blank using tiny brads and trimmed the excess off the top and bottom. A simple sentiment to finish.
Inside I used more Worn Lipstick distress inks with the same mask to co-ordinate.
Materials list
Crafty Individuals mask - magic roundabout
Distress markers - Dusty Concord and Crushed olive
Distress ink - Worn lipstick
White card and white paper for the insert.
CALENDAR CHALLENGE INSPIRATION
(by Karen)
Here is my 1st calendar page. They are all going to be 9x14cm and, when all done, will be bound with a Bind it All. I chose DaVinci because he was an inventor who my husband is interested in.
I stamped the vellum with StazOn and attached it with staples.
The background is Scattered Straw Distress inks.

Lovely projects. Anybody wanting to recommend a glue that doesn't show to stick down vellum?? I see the DT have used a variety of fixings here.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous projects, I'm hoping to enter the calendar challenges :-)
