Weekly Challenge

Welcome everybody to our first weekly challenge of the year.

And welcome to our new members who have just joined us here,
I hope you will join in with the challenges.

I have to apologize to you first regarding the Link for this months
Calendar Challenge. For some reason it is not showing your pictures
on the blog but keeping them in the link.
I'm sure it is something I have done......or not done, I'm afraid
I am learning this job the hard way at times. Hopefully
today's will work properly!

So, our last week on the blog featured mini albums.
The challenge for this week is going to be .......

Mini Albums

We've given you some ideas, lets see what you come up with.
There are no rules other than...it has to be a mini album!!

The winner will receive a £10 voucher (random draw).

Please get your entries in by Sunday Feb 15th midnight.

The winner will be announced on Feb 17th.

As usual you need to use the link at the bottom to add
your project.  Fingers crossed it will work this time.

Just to let you know, as so many people said they couldn't
get to the shop today to see the demos, I popped down there to see
what they were up to.  I have some photos to put on here for you to see
some of the wonderful samples the ladies made.

Good luck with this weeks Challenge,

See you soon,

Jane x

Calendar Challenge - February

Helloooo,

Just popped in quickly today to show you what
Pauline has created for February - Calendar Challenge.

As you know the two words this month are

Red & Hearts

 and this is her project....

Just to let you know I have changed the settings for comments
to be left.  We love to receive your comments but unfortunately due to the
huge amount of spam we receive, I have to moderate them.  That means they will
not show immediately but will appear as soon as I can get them on here.

See you soon,

Jane x

Art Journal challenge - Who's playing?

Hello,
How about a new Art Journal challenge this week? We have not done one for a while.
Gio and Gay even made a couple of samples for you, thank you ladies ;o)

It was a PaperArtsy week, so if you have some of their stamps, it would be fab to use them on your AJ page. If you don't, then don't worry and have fun making a page to share with us.

Are you new to Art Journaling? Click on our Art Journal section for inspiration.

Challenge is open to all countries
and will close on
Sunday 15th September

One lucky participant will win the following "AJ kit":
1 Tando Creative Mask: sequin waster
1 Dylusion spray: Postbox red
1 Goosebump texture spray
1 PaperArtsy Mini65

Gio used:
PaperArtsy stamps: Minis MN65 and Hot Picks 1006
PaperArtsy Crackly tissue paper

= = = = = = = = = = = =

The pages were sprayed with water first then a quick short spray with the Dylusions inks and allowed to dry.
My image was stamped and then I chalked and distressed and layered onto the page. The first layer was black then I did a layer of Versamark ink and used mica powder. I twisted the image. The tiny face I added lace, that was the top of the buildings stamp and the other face has the text fromm the other stamp in the set!

Gay used
Dylusions inks, Bubblegum Pink and Vibrant Turquiose
PaperArtsy stamps by Lynne Perrella LPC 011
Andy Skinner Gothic stamps
Chalk

Adding a page by Isa'sArt, you can see on her blog Chouchouland
No PaperArtsy used, Isa drew everything, but it shows you a nice way to use the Aquamarkers

Your turn now...
Can't wait to see what you come up with

See you on your blogs...

Colouring technique challenge

Helloooo everyone,

First of all, I must apologize for the previous "ghost" challenge. I had promised a challenge that never came up on the blog ... whooops...
I was away for 3 weeks on holiday (in France), scheduled all the posts (but one, thank you Jane) and did as much as I could but I completely forgot to schedule the challenge. Mea Culpa. It won't happen again... Well.. I'll try not to make it happen again ;). Am I forgiven ?
I must add that I did try to post it from there, but the computer + connection at my mum's is sooooo slooooow that I quickly gave up :-/
Everything else came up as planned though, so I'm really pleased about that :o)

So back to this week. I hope you enjoyed this "technique week" and that you are ready to try them all... or some... As usual, there is a £ 20 to win so there is no excuse really ;)
Ready? here we go.

For this challenge, you will have to make a sample of your choice using one of the techniques shown this week, which can be one (or more) of the following:

1- Using the lovely marbling paints as Gio showed you on Monday
2- Altering a candle, as Jane showed you on Tuesday
3- Using watercolours, as Isa showed you on Wednesday
4- Using Distress markers as Neil showed you on Thursday
5- Using PaperSoft colours if you have them as Jane showed you on Friday
6- Using misters (Dylusion or another brand) with a straw as I showed you on Saturday

Please make sure to link back to our blog in your post, so that others can find us and come and play too. And please, link to your specific post (permalink), not to your blog address.

Challenge is open to all countries and will close on
Sunday 26th August

If you don't have a blog, you can email me a picture of your entry (the name of the file should be your name) and I'll post it for you.

The other option, if you don't have a blog is to post it on your Facebook and link it from there.
I should think it would work with Google + or Instagram too for those of you who have those accounts. Remember that your picture has got to be public for it to work.

Any question, please ask in a comment below (don't forget to leave your email so I can get in touch with you, or come back to check the answer on the blog)

Embossing and mica challenge

Hi,

Well, another week of inspiration has passed, with lots of techniques and different ways to use the Fran-tage products. Now it's time to see if you have been listening carefully to your teachers LOL and get those Mica flakes and enamel embossing powders out.

For this challenge, we will ask you to
use embossing enamel and / or mica flakes on your project.
You don't have any Fran-tage? (well, you should lol)... you can use other brands... UTEE or the Cosmic Shimmer for the enamel for example. But if you do have some Fran-tage, please use this first.

Project can be anything:
Card, Art Journal page, Scrapbooking page, ATC
altered object etc...

Challenge is open to all countries
and will close on
Sunday 15th July

Please, post your entrie(s) on your blog and link it
(Permalink please, not a general link to your blog) to the blue frog below.

If you don't have a blog, you can email me a picture of your entry (the name of the file should be your name) and I'll post it for you.

Art Journal (cover) challenge

Hello,

ONE MORE DAY TO POST YOUR ENTRIES

It's been a while since we did an AJ challenge on this blog and I think it's about time to do another one, don't you think?
If you are not into Art Journaling (yet), then feel free to make something else (card, tag, ATC, scrapbook page etc.)

We (AJ-ers.. is that a word? .. It is now lol) love using masks on our pages. I'm sure you will all agree. So this mask week is the perfect opportunity.
But instead of making another "page", how about doing something about your AJ *cover*

I personally have several AJ on the go, but my favourite is the one with the outside done as well as the inside. So pretty.

So let's see how you will pull this off...

For this Art Journal challenge, we will ask you to

USE MASKS/TEMPLATES ON YOUR
ART JOURNAL COVER

You can use anything else you would like... paints, fabric, inks, stamps, collage, BUT you have to use masks too

Challenge is open to all countries
and will close on
Sunday 24th June

Please, post your AJ cover on your blog and link it
(Permalink please, not a general link to your blog) to the blue frog below.

If you don't have a blog, you can email me a picture of your entry (the name of the file should be your name) and I'll post it for you.

The other option, if you don't have a blog is to post it on your Facebook and link it from there.
I should think it would work with Google + or Instagram too for those of you who have those accounts. Remember that your picture has got to be public for it to work.

Here's a few samples for your this week

GIO
who made her cover after following Andy Skinner's "Timeworn Techniques online workshop"

Art Journal challenge #2

Hello,
I know that many of you have asked for another Art Journal challenge, so here it is.

The theme this time is "FILLED WITH LOVE".

What we will ask is to draw/stencils/die-cut hearts and "fill" them with what you love... It can be pictures of your loved ones... your favourite colours... favourite food... favourite movies.... Anything/one you love and want to journal about should be INSIDE the hearts... The rest is up to you...
Any question, please ask in a comment below, and don't forget to come and see the answer ;)
----

Challenge is open to all countries
and will close on
Sunday 25th February

One lucky participant will win the following "love kit":

*****

Some of the  DT members (and myself) had a play and here's what we came up with...

Gay filled her hearts with what she loves in crafts: Text and texture

Gio loves sewing, so her AJ page is all about sewing and stitches

I love drawing (that's very new), but there are things I already like to draw more than others.
Ps: I did not draw in those hearts... I scanned my drawings, photoshoped them to fit in the hearts I then printed, cut and glued on my page. My fav. animal is the tiger... probably why I enjoyed drawing that one so much.

by Linda Elbourne

So who's playing?

I really hope we will get lots of entries as we did last time and can't wait to see your AJs
(My 8 year old daughter Melissa is already on the starting blocks... ready to go LOL)

See you on your blogs...
