Simply Saturdays 1 stamp 6 ways - Jane

Hi,
Final post of the week using this Katezkraft Mini Arch with a Clean and Simple card by Jane
Gorgeous, elegant, stylish are some of the words that come to mind when I look at her card. Don't you agree?
Looking forward to reading your comments about this past week.
Have a great weekend.

The DT have made such beautiful projects with this stamp and I had to come up with something different, so I decided to keep mine really simple

I stamped the image on the card and then onto a scrap piece of card so that I could cut it out

Use double sided foam pads on the cut-out image.

Then add some gems.

Finish with a greeting and a little ribbon

1 stamp 6 ways - Gio

Hi,
Gio day today, and a very unusual but truly stunning way to use the Katzelkraft Mini arch. Trust Gio to think of that. Would you love those in your Christmas tree? I particularly love the Gold one.

Three little decorations using one stamp.

I stamped four time the Katzelkraft single rubber stamp - Mini arch on Ranger Specialty Stamping Paper using Versamark ink; then I poured some Cosmic Shimmer Aurora Embossing powder: Viola Black and I heated it until melted. I cut out the inner part of the arch, leaving only the frame.
I cut 4 images from Crafty Individuals Merry Christmas and I glued to the back of the arch. I added some sparkle: rhinestones, Distress Stickles and mica powder. I glued the 4 arches together, to form a 3D piece. I closed the roof linking together the 4 edges using a needle and a matching thread. I added some beads to a Head Pins and I used it to hang the ornament.

I made a golden version using Cosmic Shimmer Lustre Embossing powder: copper bronze and images from Crafty Individuals picture book: People and places 2.

For the calendar page:
I glued to a piece of cardstock cut to size pieces of torn book pages and pages from Crafty Individuals background book 5 (Italy).
I painted it with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paints: Little Black Dress leaving just a little area clean. I tapped the surface with Versamark Ink then I sprinkled some Cosmic Shimmer Aurora Embossing powder: Viola Black and Stampendous embossing enamel: aged rose. I heated with the heat gun until melted.

1 stamp 6 ways - Neil

Hello,
Here's your 4th sample featuring the Katzelkraft Mini Arch. Neil made an Art Journal page using the Arch as bird houses with little windows... to hide secret messages?
Here's how Neil made his page.

For the background I swiped Distress Dtains over the whole page and when dry adhered two skeleton leaves to the page with matte multi medium.

To make the "bird houses" I stamped the arch five times and cut four of them around the outside. The fifth one I cut out the inside and used it as a mask so I could stamp the faces inside them. I used a craft knife to cut around the three sides of each one to create a door. I cut a small piece of card to put on the back of them to give me a surface to write on. It is a bit fiddly to glue but I used the thinnest double sided tape and it was just narrow enough to fit!

I placed them onto the page and glued down.

Left hand page

Here you can see how they open for your hidden journalling.

To finish the page I drew in posts; added the journaling and drew a frame around the page. Lastly I stamped the birds flying randomly across the pages.

The journaling reads " Come back to roost oh my artistic muse. Your room is ready, so do come and stay, even if only for a while..."

Materials
Distress Stains - Vintage Photo and Stormy Sky
Distress Inks - Walnut stain and Mustard seed
Stamps - birds from Mini Ornates (Tim Holtz),
Others are Katzelkraft - Mini Arch, mini Maude, Transportation, KTZ65 and KTZ100

1 stamp 6 ways - Karen

Hi,
Second.. and third ... project today with Karen who chose to use the mini to make a beautiful DREAM banner. She also used it on her weekly calendar sample.
What do you think?

I coloured some white card with Mustard Seed Distress ink before stamping the arch 5 times using different colour StazOn inks. I did the same with the letters from the Cart-Us alphabet set except that I used Versamark ink and embossed in gold. This was followed by lots of cutting out!!! I found some tassled braid in my stash and glued some to the bottom of the arches then glued the arches onto some white card so that the braid was sandwiched. Slits were cut in the tops of the arches and narrow ribbon threaded through for hanging.

1 stamp 6 ways - Chris Dark

Hi,
Two more weeks of beautiful samples and then our talented DT will take a well deserved break (and me too). But don't worry, we will be back in the New Year with new designers, and a new challenge.... and a lot more inspiration.
This week is a week I particularly like: 1 stamps 6 ways. I always love to see all the different ideas the DT comes up with using the same product.

For this "1 stamp 6 ways", we chose the Katzelkraft Mini arch and we have some beautiful samples coming up this week for you.

Starting with our Guest Designer Chris Dark and a gorgeous altered mini book. What do you think of this one? Can't wait to read your comments.

This week I’ve been playing with the gorgeous Katzelkraft mini arch stamp which is one that I love as it’s so versatile. Another of my favourite Craft Barn products are the natural A7 note books and I always buy them a few at a time as they make such lovely little gifts as a note or address book and can be decorated in many different ways.

I’ve gone with the kraft colour scheme and simply stamped over the notebook with the Typographie stamp and Archival black ink. Next I stamped the mini arch onto white card and cut it out also cutting out the middle section up to the shading and inked with gathered twigs distress ink. Taking a small piece of white tissue paper that was cut to fit behind the arch middle section I stamped it with the floral image and carefully coloured the flower with the copic markers before gluing it to the notebook. The arch was glued over the top and gives a nice contrast in the middle as the tissue is semi opaque and shows some of the underneath background stamping.

I cut some of the blossoms from Crunchy waxed paper and glued them to the book near the top and then coloured them with the red copic marker , making the centres of the flowers with stickles glitter glue. I added the chit chat sticker to the bottom of the arch and gave everything a coat of glue and seal to set it, when dry I added a coat of glossy accents to the arch for some contrasting shine.

Chris used:
Katzelkraft unmounted rubber stamps – Mini arch , Flourishes, Typographie
Craft Barn White tissue paper
PaperArtsy Crunchy kraft waxed paper
Memory box die fancy blossom
Tim Holtz Ideology chit chat stickers
Copic markers R27 Cadmium Red, YG95 Pale Olive
Stickles – Star dust
Distress Ink – Gathered Ttwigs
Ranger Archival ink – Jet Black

Artemio week: piece of art

Hi,
Neil chose a very different path to everyone else, creating a true piece of art on the way. He did not use the stamps but chose the little Artemio cage we sell as a "holder" for a mini album. Now if that's not art with a twist, what is?
If you are lucky enough to live by a beach (oh do I miss that!), you might think twice about those bits of wood lying around after you have seen this project...
Would love to read your thoughts on this one...

I used the bird cage, some beach wood and a Tando circle for the base
Everything was glued with modeling paste and the branches of the wood holing the "cup" modelled.
When everything was dry I painted the clay bits with paint. stamped some images onto the base which I'd cut up a bit. I used the Frant-age to add texture to the base and Inka Gold over the branches and the wood.

The journal made with the canvas transfer technique from the fabric week. The pages inked and stamped and everything held together with a pin and charm.

Materials

Wood
Aged Taupe Frant-age Embossing enamel
Americana Burnt Umber acrylic paint
Inka Gold Old Silver
Sticky Canvas
Walnut Stain Distress ink

Simply Katzelkraft Saturday

Hi,
Double treat today with Gay and her Clean and  Simple style offering us not one but two projects: a cute recycled little box and a masculine card.

This was a chocolate box that I saved from Christmas, loved the shape and painted it with gesso almost as soon as I emptied it !! The cat stamp is so bold an image I wanted to leave it in B/W and I love that combination with the guacamole Fresco paint, yum! Inside is painted with black Fresco. The cat I stamped out and cut panels to adhere to the four sides and now I've somewhere to store my glitter pens

For her box, Gay used
Fresco Finish paints: Guacamole and Little Black dress
The little toggle is white shrink plastic and the chain recycled from a clothing tag.

Using the Masculine stamp set KTZ 86, simply stamping and a little background colour.

For her card, Gay used:
Archival ink in coffee

See you next week ;)
have a great weekend

Katzelkraft week: another beautiful tag

Hello,
As promised yesterday, here's another tag made by Michelle this time.
Michelle used Ranger alcohol inks to make her beautiful background but remember that we also sell the Letraset alcohol inks which come in over 45 (!!) colours. Imagine all the possibilities with such a wide range of colours.

The background for the tag was a choice of three alcohol inks spotted onto felt on a Ranger applicator. A spot of metalic gold alcohol ink was added and then applied to gloss paper. When the ink has covered the page just add a spot of mixative and apply again to the paper.
Theres a great tutorial by Tim Holtz HERE
Then its just a case of stamping your design onto the tag using Archival ink. I've stamped the lace pattern on the left and the dressmakers dummy on the right.
To make the embellishments, I cut the sewing room die out of the shrink plastic and using StazOn stamped the lace across the skirt part of the dummy positioning so the dip in the top of the lace was centered at the waist then stamped the ovalish motif so that it fitted into the dip from the neckline. After doing the same with the bobbin I shrank them with the heat gun after punching a hole with the Crop-a-Dile to hang them.

With a few bits and pieces to decorate from my stash it was ready to go in my cards etc to give with presents. Mmmmm must make a card to go with it so it's a matching gift set!

I used
Katzelkraft unmounted rubber stamps - Lace
Stampers Anonymous - Tim Holtz: Haberdashery
Ranger Archival Ink pad: Jet Black
Polyshrink : translucent

Katzelkraft week: tag box

Hey bloggers,
I told you we would have quite a few tags this week (one more coming tomorrow with Michelle), so it was perfect timing (and not planned!) that Neil altered this wooden basket to store his tags. I LOVE the idea and might do this myself very soon. Thanks Neil.

I use this wooden "basket" to keep tags that I've pre-cut so I have some ready when I want one. It's not been decorated until now though! I coloured it with Distress Stain as it covers wood items fabulously. I stamped some images around it in archival ink.
The main image was stamped onto card and torn around before being coloured with distress ink a

To finish I added a small tattered flower from the sizzix strip die and edged the container with Inka gold to add some sparkle.nd blending foam. I removed some of the colour by using a waterbrush and paper towel. This highlights areas nicely!
Materials list
Medium box from set of 3 wooden baskets
Sizzix tattered flower strip die
KTZ67 Circus stamp
Distress stains- Forest moss
Distress inks- Forest moss and Barn Door
Inka gold 912 lava green.

Katzelkraft week: Tag #2 and clasp bag

Hi,
Third day in our Katzelkraft week and first of all, I would like to share a beautiful sample made by one of our customer: Lucy Edmonton.
Isn't it lovely?
Thank you Lucy for sharing this with us :o)

Now for our DT sample. Linda has made an amazing background on her tag today using Distress stains and Perfect Pearls mist.

I scribbled with Bundled Sage; Picket Fence; Broken China and Wild Honey Distress Stain onto my Craft Sheet ... spritzed my tag with water and then sloshed it and splashed it about ... drying the layers each time with my heat tool! I LOVE Picket Fence Distress Stain. Next I stamped the KatzelKraft cogs in Sepia ... added Tim Holtz text in Coffee Archival then stamped the KatzelKraft landmarks and car in Jet Black StazOn. I did a quick wash over the car and scenery with Derwent watercolour pencils and a water brush ... spritzed the whole tag with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls and then added a spot of Faux Stitching with a Black Pen and a Pokey Tool! Great Fun!

Linda used:
Distress Stains: Bundled Sage; Broken China; Wild Honey; Picket Fence
Archival inks: Sepia; Jet Black; Coffee
Katzelkraft Mini: 09; 13; 19
Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls mist
Tim Holtz: Just Thoughts
